Roma's Radja Nainggolan confirms Chelsea talks last summer

Radja Nainggolan has said he discussed a transfer to Chelsea with manager Antonio Conte last summer, and could be interested in re-opening talks at the end of the season if the British weather improved.

Earlier this week, the Belgium international played down speculation he could team up with Conte at Stamford Bridge.

However, speaking ahead of Belgium's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier with Greece, Nainggolan said he had spoken to the former Juventus and Italy coach about joining the Premier League leaders.

"Yes, I talked to him. They were really interested and wanted me. That's all I can say," the 28-year-old said, before joking: "Bring me the sun and I'll come."

He added: "I watch the Premier League a lot. A lot of my international teammates play there. I think it's the best league in the world. When the transfer market opens, we'll talk about it again."
