Thierry Henry poached the only goal of the game to put France into the semi-finals of the World Cup and dump champions Brazil out of the tournament on Saturday.

Henry struck in the 57th minute of a match largely controlled by the French, racing in at the far post to volley a Zinedine Zidane free kick into the roof of the net from close range.

Les Bleus, who had stunned Brazil 3-0 in the 1998 final, produced a superb performance to set up a match with Portugal on Wednesday in Munich for a place in the July 9 final. [+]
