Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque has suggested he will keep faith with Fernando Torres against Germany.
Torres has yet to score at this summer's World Cup and has been consistently substituted after disappointing performances, but the player believes he is now starting to recapture some of his form.
Some believe Del Bosque should drop Torres for the semi-final, but he has indicated that he is happy with the striker's efforts.
"He remains a reference for us," he said. "Whether he is scoring or not, he offers hard work and personality and he'll be our striker. Saying that doesn't mean he's an untouchable starter, but we have full confidence in him."
Fernando Llorente or Cesc Fabregas are the most likely replacements should Torres miss out on a place in the first XI against Germany, and Del Bosque said: "We've got so much competition in those positions."
