Hiddink disappointed by Ozil choice
Turkey manager Guus Hiddink admits he is disappointed Mesut Ozil has chosen to play for Germany.
Ozil, who has been one of the stars of the World Cup so far, has Turkish parents but his father, who moved to Germany in his youth, carries a German passport.
That meant the player carried dual nationality, but he has spent his entire life in Germany and played for the German Under-19 and Under-21 teams.
"It's a pity that Ozil has chosen the wrong passport," Hiddink said. "He is a modern footballer I could use in my team."
