Pavlos Joseph, the England fan who went into the team's dressing room after their match with Algeria, has been banned from attending future World Cup matches in South Africa.
Joseph, from Crystal Palace, London, claims a security guard directed him down the players' tunnel when he was looking for a toilet.
When he found himself in the changing room, the 32-year-old apparently asked David Beckham, "David, we've spent a lot of money getting here. This is a disgrace. What are you going to do about it?" according to a British newspaper.
He was arrested at his Cape Town hotel on Sunday morning, and Brigadier Sally de Beer confirmed he has been charged with trespassing.
"This morning at approximately 10.30am a 32-year-old man was arrested by the South African Police Service at the Bay Hotel in Camps Bay, Cape Town on a charge of trespassing," De Beer said.
"The charge relates to the man's appearance in the English team's change room after the World Cup match between England and Algeria on Friday night, 18 June 2010."
De Beer revealed he was released on 500 rand bail and is due in court to stand trial on Monday.
