England goalkeeper David James has revealed himself to be something of a lone wolf in the England camp and hinted at dissatisfaction behind the scenes.

• Steven Gerrard: No excuses
• Jolly: England were abject
• Brewin: Fans are right
• Gupta: Pride for Algeria
A dire performance by England in their 0-0 draw with Algeria on Friday led to speculation that all was not right in the squad and when asked if he was close to his fellow goalkeepers James said: "I'm not close to anyone."
So awful was the performance in Cape Town that former England manager Graham Taylor, now working as a pundit, suggested it indicated there was "something not right behind the scenes".
"I don't believe the proper preparatory work is being done," Taylor said. "Look at the body language: something is wrong."
