Portugal put their embarrassing draw with Cape Verde behind them as they cruised to a 3-1 victory over ten-man Cameroon in a World Cup warm-up match.

Raul Meireles scored twice - either side of a red card for Cameroon's star man Samuel Eto'o - before Pierre Webo's strike put Cameroon back in contention, only for Nani to seal the win nine minutes from time.

The Netherlands smashed four past Ghana as they ran out 4-1 winners in their match.

Goals from Dirk Kuyt (30), Rafael Van der Vaart (72), Wesley Sneijder (80) and a Robin Van Persie penalty saw off the Africans who only managed a consolation from Asamoah Gyan (78).

Josh Kennedy has continued his remarkable scoring rate for Australia to give manager Pim Verbeek a pleasant selection dilemma ahead of the World Cup as the Socceroos beat Denmark 1-0 in their first warm-up friendly in South Africa.

The match appeared to be heading for a 0-0 draw at Ruimsig Stadium on the outskirts of Johannesburg until Kennedy took full advantage of a slice of luck for the Aussies in the 71st minute to score his seventh goal in just 18 appearances for the Socceroos.

Switzerland's preparations took a knock as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica in Sion. Winston Parks, who plays his club football in Romania with FC Timisoara, scored the only goal of the game in the 57th minute.
