Ivory Coast FA explain Kalou absence
Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou was left out of the World Cup qualifier against Guinea at the weekend after an altercation with a team mate, the Ivorian Football Federation said on Tuesday.
Kalou has been disciplined after kicking out at West Brom midfielder Abdoulaye Meite during training on the eve of Saturday's 3-0 win in Abidjan.
The victory ensured an unbeaten run for the Ivorians in their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
They had already secured qualification to the finals in South Africa and with a number of premier League stars in their ranks, are expected to make a good account of themselves at the tournament.
Chelsea's Kalou could also miss Wednesday's friendly against Germany in Gelsenkirchen, the Ivorian federation reported on its website.
