Diego Tardelli of Brazilian championship leaders Atletico Mineiro was named in Dunga's Brazil squad on Tuesday for their friendly away to Estonia next month.
The 24-year-old striker comes into a 22-man squad for the August 12 friendly in Tallinn that will serve as a warm-up for Brazil's World Cup qualifiers away to arch-rivals Argentina and at home to Chile in September.
"Tardelli has been playing very well for two years and this is a good opportunity to get a close look at him," Dunga, who maintained the core of his Confederations Cup-winning squad, told reporters.
Dunga kept 20 of the 23 players he took to the tournament in South Africa last month where Brazil retained their title. He has recalled Real Madrid left back Marcelo after a disappointing performance from Internacional's Kleber.
"As time goes on things are sharpening up," said Dunga, who lays great store by team spirit. "The main thing is the effort and dedication of this Brazilian squad.
"It's not enough to have technical qualities. To get into a competitive group, you have to give a lot of yourself."
Those dropped from the Confederations Cup squad apart from Kleber were Gremio goalkeeper Vitor and striker Alexandre Pato of AC Milan.
