JOHANNESBURG -- Cribbed from BBC.co.uk, via the Sports Business Daily: FIFA has insured the World Cup tournament for $9 billion, according to Lloyd's of London. Stadiums and training venues are covered up to $4.6 billion. National teams, broadcasters and "other firms with a stake in the tournament's success" also have taken out policies.
No word on how much the policy covers regarding hearing damage from listening to vuvuzelas.
