FIFA Rankings: Nigeria up one spot but Egypt still top CAF

Nigeria have moved up one spot in the latest FIFA Rankings, while Algeria have dropped out of the top 10 in Africa.

The Fennecs were top of the pile for some time, but a poor run at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations continued their recent fall from grace.

In fact, it's been a wretched time for most North African countries, with Morocco (down four places to 54th overall) and Tunisia (down five places to 42nd overall) also dropping substantially. The exception is Afcon finalists Egypt, who top the CAF rankings, having moved up one place to 19th overall.

Nigeria are up one place to 40th, but Ghana have continued their recent slump by falling a further two places to 45th.

Liberia were the biggest losers in the latest rankings, dropping a massive 39 places to 141st overall.
