Adelaide United climbed four spots to fifth in the A-League table after downing Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 on Sunday.
Marcelo Carrusca's fortuitous fourth-minute goal had the Reds firing early and it proved enough for Josep Gombau's charges, who moved above Perth Glory, the Newcastle Jets, Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix in the table.
Following last week's win over Brisbane Roar, United have beaten the league's top two to record successive wins for the first time in over a year.
The goal came after a goalmouth scramble, but was not without controversy, Bruce Djite nicking the ball out of the hands of goalkeeper Ante Covic and the ball appearing to go out of play before Carrusca finished from a narrow angle.
Wanderers went close to an equaliser, first when Shinji Ono's cross narrowly eluded the sliding Labinot Haliti and then through Ono's bicycle kick, but United held on.
