Tyson could face cup KO

Nathan Tyson is still waiting to learn whether he will be granted permission to feature in Fleetwood's FA Cup clash with Burton.

The Cod Army want to play the striker but Tyson's parent club Blackpool, who operate with a small squad, may be keen to avoiding getting him cup-tied with his loan due to expire in January.

The same quandary is facing teenager Daniel Carr and his parent club Huddersfield, although Fleetwood appear more resigned to the fact he will not be available to boss Graham Alexander this weekend.

That would leave Alexander's attacking options particularly stretched, with Jamille Matt (ankle) and David Ball (shoulder) long-term absentees, so Jon Parkin, who once scored an FA Cup hat-trick with Preston, could be in line to feature.

Leading scorer Adam McGurk is an injury concern for Burton.

McGurk has been nursing a heel problem since the league win at Plymouth and has not trained this week but Brewers boss Gary Rowett is hopeful his eight-goal striker will be fit for the second round tie.

If McGurk misses out then Rene Howe is likely to make his first start since mid-September.

Rory Delap has trained all week and the veteran defender could return to the squad after a three-month absence with a hamstring injury. However, striker Michael Symes (groin) and midfielder Adam Reed (hamstring) both remain unavailable.
