Queen of the South have received clearance from St Johnstone to play on-loan goalkeeper Zander Clark in the Scottish Cup third-round tie against Hamilton.
Calum Antell remains out with a foot injury and untried youngster Jim Atkinson would have been thrown in if Clark could not have been used.
Stephen McKenna's heel problem keeps him out while Paul Burns remains sidelined with his groin injury.
Manager Jim McIntyre said: "We are going into the tie on the back of a good 3-0 win at Alloa that was well deserved. It would be terrific to build on that with a cup win over Hamilton."
Scottish Championship leaders Hamilton are sweating on the fitness of top goalscorer James Keatings, who is a major doubt for Palmerston due to a calf problem.
The former Celtic striker will need to pass a fitness test to be included, while a groin injury keeps Ryan Finnie out.
Player/manager Alex Neil said: "We played Queen of the South at our place earlier in the season and won 2-0. It would be great to beat them again but this will be a really hard game as it is on their patch.
"They will also be boosted by a great win over Alloa last weekend so we need to play well."
