Ramsdens Cup holders Queen of the South will be without defender Mark Durnan through suspension when they host Rangers at Palmerston Park in the last remaining quarter-final tie.
The Doonhamers are also missing groin injury victim Paul Burns for the game where the prize is a place in Thursday's semi-final draw alongside Annan, Raith Rovers and Stenhousemuir.
The sides met at this stage last season, however, Dumfries manager Jim McIntyre played down the significance of that result.
He said: "Rangers are a very different side and the reports we have on them show that they are really strong this season.
"We will have to be at our best to win."
Lewis Macleod is rated doubtful for Rangers.
The midfielder is struggling with a knee injury, while Lee Wallace could remain on the sidelines with a hip problem.
Ian Black is suspended as he serves a three-match ban for breaching gambling rules.
