VfB Stuttgart v Hannover 96: Preview

Stuttgart coach Thomas Schneider has looked back on his first 100 days in charge of the club with a mixture of pride and disappointment.

In his first seven games since replacing Bruno Labbadia, the Swabians were unbeatable, yet they have only picked up one win in their seven matches since.

That is something he intends to improve on when Hannover, who ended their own seven-game winless streak last weekend, come to the Mercedes-Benz-Arena on Saturday.

``We've shown signs of what we want to do in the future, but we can't be happy with the number of points we've picked up,'' said Schneider, reflecting on the past three months.

``They were 100 days with highs and lows and this is now an important game for us. We need to show with our body language that we are desperate to win it.''

Three former Hannover players could be facing their ex-club this weekend with Mohammed Abdellaoue set to be given the nod in attack, joining other former Reds Konstantin Rausch and Karim Haggui who have both featured more frequently this season.

``Mo has improved in recent weeks and he's now at a level where we are considering throwing him in,'' Schneider said at a press conference.

Otherwise, Schneider has the same players at his disposal as he had a week ago for the 3-0 defeat to Schalke.

Hannover coach Mirko Slomka does not have so many options, on the other hand.

He risks losing half of his normal defence with Edgar Prib doubtful with a stomach bug while Christian Schulz has a back injury.

Salif Sane is back after suspension and Sebastien Pocognoli is the only other option, although there was better news for the Reds coach with top scorer Mame Diouf fit and available.

Slomka hopes not only to be able to pick Diouf on Saturday, but for many games to come.

``I am very hopeful because he's happy in the city, loved by the fans and respected by his team-mates,'' Slomka told Sky Sport News.

``Mame is the right guy for Hannover.''
