Paris Saint-Germain v AC Ajaccio: Preview

Paris St Germain coach Laurent Blanc has stressed it may take time for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani to flourish as a strike partnership.

Cavani's arrival from Napoli this summer means PSG have both the Serie A and, in Ibrahimovic, Ligue 1 top-scorers from the 2012-13 campaign on their books.

The pair have only played 18 minutes of match time alongside one another to date, with Cavani coming off the bench just over a week ago for the closing stages of the champions' title defence-opening 1-1 draw at Montpellier.

And speaking at a press conference ahead of Sunday's home clash with Ajaccio, Blanc said: ``To be complementary, they must play together.

``So far they have played only 18 minutes side by side.

``You must be patient and refine this in matches and training.

``They have scored plenty of goals, and it is for us to ensure that they continue to score as a partnership.

``But I am not concerned, because they are two great players.''

Ibrahimovic netted all of Sweden's goals in their 4-2 win over Norway on Wednesday, while Cavani missed Uruguay's win against Japan by the same scoreline due to a minor injury.

Both are set to feature in the meeting with Ajaccio at the Parc des Princes, although Blanc has been cagey about Cavani's chances of making his first PSG start in the game.

``Everyone is ready for Ajaccio on Sunday,'' Blanc said.

``Edinson had a small problem to his pubis, but it worked well this week with him and some other players not being involved in international matches.

``He was able to train normally.

``He will get on the pitch at the Parc des Princes, but it remains to be seen whether it will be from the start or from the bench.''

Ajaccio lost their opening league game 1-0 at home to St Etienne last Sunday.
