U's problems continue

PA Sport

Captain Brian Wilson is suspended for Colchester's clash at home to bottom-club Notts County while the club's lengthy injury list also shows no sign of easing.

Right-back Wilson received his fifth booking of the season in the U's 2-1 defeat at Tranmere last time out and now serves an automatic one-match ban.

Midfielders David Wright (back) and Marcus Bean (hamstring) will also watch from the stands as Joe Dunne's side aim to pick up what would only be a third win in 20 games.

Long-term absentees Freddie Sears, Gavin Massey (both hamstring), Sanchez Watt (thigh), Josh Thompson (ankle) and Drey Wright (knee) remain sidelined.

Notts County will have an unchanged squad.

On-loan striker Marcus Haber is still suspended; he will serve the final game of a three-match ban, after being sent off against Bradford at the end of last month.

Midfielder Joss Labadie (ankle) and defender Mustapha Dumbuya (thigh) are still not quite ready to return from injury but manager Shaun Derry has plenty of options should he wish to make any changes to his starting line-up after last weekend's 3-1 home win over Gillingham.

The likes of Manny Smith, Enoch Showunmi, David Bell, Ronan Murray, Mark Fotheringham and Callum Ball will all be vying for places in Derry's XI in Essex.
