Christie ready for City comeback

Cyrus Christie is set to return to Coventry's matchday squad for the visit of managerless Notts County but is unlikely to start.

The right-back has spent the last four weeks on the sidelines nursing an ankle injury but is ready to up his recovery and take a place on the bench at Sixfields.

Jordan Willis had stepped in for Christie but he himself missed last weekend's 1-0 victory at Walsall with a knee injury and is looking at four to six weeks on the sidelines, with Aaron Phillips again set to get the nod against the Magpies.

Forward Billy Daniels has undergone his hernia operation and could well return in time for City's FA Cup first-round tie against AFC Wimbledon next Friday.

Andrew Boucaud is one of a handful players who could return for the Magpies.

Boucaud definitely comes back into the reckoning after missing the 3-2 home win over Oldham in midweek because of a one-match suspension.

Fellow midfielder David Bell, defender Mustapha Dumbuya and striker Marcus Haber were also absent on Tuesday night as development manager Steve Hodge took charge of first-team affairs for the first time following Chris Kiwomya's departure and they could also be back.

Captain Dean Leacock has missed the last three matches through illness and the centre-half will be checked, while striker Enoch Showunmi is on his way back from a back problem
