Jiminez: We'll fight for survival

Real Zaragoza coach Manuel Jimenez has vowed his side will give everything they have got as they look to avoid relegation from the Primera Division against Atletico Madrid.

Zaragoza need at least a draw from Saturday's clash at La Romareda if they are to have any chance of maintaining their top-flight status.

Jimenez's team sit 19th in the table, a point ahead of bottom-placed Real Mallorca, level with 18th-placed Celta Vigo, and a point adrift of 17th-placed Deportivo La Coruna.

Zaragoza have the edge in terms of head-to-head record over Mallorca and Depor, but not over Celta.

A draw would keep Zaragoza up if Celta and Depor were both to lose and Mallorca failed to win.

A win keeps Zaragoza up as long as Celta and Depor do not both win their games, and Jimenez has called for a huge effort to ensure their top-flight stint does not end at four seasons.

``We will give everything for our fans and the shield that we have on our chest,'' he told reporters at a press conference.

``It will be a game of many emotions and feelings, and we have to remove ourselves from the other games that could affect us and focus on winning.

``We believe this club belongs in the Primera Division because it has the best fans.''

Striker Helder Postiga added: ``When I go through the tunnel at La Romareda I always read the slogan 'Zaragoza never gives up'. We believe that we can avoid relegation. We will not give up.''

Atletico Madrid have no such worries with third place, a Champions League spot, and the Copa del Rey already secured.

Coach Diego Simeone has a few injury concerns ahead of the finale, with midfielders Raul Garcia (knee) and Mario Suarez (back) doubtful. Defender Filipe Luis is with the Brazil squad preparing for the Confederations Cup.
