Eintracht Frankfurt will be bidding to break through the 40-point barrier following coach Armin Veh's decision to commit to a new one-year contract.
Veh had been repeating for weeks that he would sit down and discuss a new contract as soon as his side reached 40 points - generally viewed as the target to avoid relegation.
However, with just two points from their last five Bundesliga matches, they have been stuck on the wrong side of that threshold, prompting Veh to use the international break to sign a new deal anyway and end speculation about his future.
That gesture, he hopes, will release his team to get the point they need to effectively seal another year in the top flight.
``I think that it is better that things can now settle down again and I hope it does (free the players' minds),'' he said.
Frankfurt are just one point away from 40, yet Veh would not settle for just a draw in Furth.
``If we want to achieve something up at the top, then we've got to get something out of Furth,'' he added.
``We will be playing to win. The players know what the stakes are, but we shouldn't make too much out of it as that would just increase the pressure.''
The pressure has already been reduced on hosts Furth, who have yet to win at home in the Bundesliga, with the club already planning for life in the second division next season.
Their new coach Frank Kramer was brought in to see the side down with dignity and then build them up again for a promotion campaign next year.
``Without beating about the bush, we want the three points against Frankfurt,'' he said at a press conference.
``We're going to have to do a lot right because they are a tough nut to crack. We want to probe them and force them into their own penalty area.''
One Furth player whose confidence could not be much higher right now is Heinrich Schmidtgal, who scored for Kazakhstan against Germany in Nuremberg on Tuesday.
Frankfurt striker Srdjan Lakic also had reason to smile this week as he scored a hat-trick in a friendly game on his return from a back injury, ad Veh has promised him a place in his squad tomorrow.
