Duo on their way back for Sky Blues

Coventry welcome back leading scorer David McGoldrick and midfielder James Bailey for their home clash against npower League One third-placed Crawley.

McGoldrick, with eight goals to his name this term, was denied permission by parent club Nottingham Forest to play in Saturday's 3-0 FA Cup triumph over non-league Arlesey.

Derby's Bailey suffered a similar fate, although Rams team-mate Callum Ball was eventually given the nod and duly scored the opener.

Defender Richard Wood is also likely to return after being rested at the weekend having suffered numerous broken noses in recent weeks.

Midfielder Steven Jennings, who bagged the third and final goal to see off Arlesey, told City's official website: ``We really need to make sure we are picking up these wins now, especially at home, and the match against Crawley is a great opportunity for us.

``Without trying to stoke it up too much, it is a massive game for us really. If we could get a result we could really begin to kick on and make sure we are getting up that table.''

Claude Davis, Nicky Ajose and Jonathan Forte return to the Crawley squad.

Defender Davis was not risked in Saturday's 2-1 FA Cup win over Met Police due to a tight thigh while Peterborough loanee Ajose and fellow forward Forte, who is on loan from Southampton, were not given permission to play in the competition by their parent clubs.

Midfielder Hope Akpan misses out again as he serves the second game of a four-match ban after he was sent off against Oldham last weekend, his second red card of the season.

Nathan Byrne will be checked over after picking up a knock on Saturday while fellow defender Shaun Cooper is fit after a groin problem.

Striker Jonte Smith, who was unable to face his parent club at the weekend, is poised to extend his loan spell with Met Police.
