Rennes midfielder Julien Feret has warned his team-mates their local rivals Brest will have targeted this weekend's derby clash as a chance to arrest their poor recent form.
While Rennes have made a fine start to their Ligue 1 campaign and lie just six points off top spot in seventh place, Brest are down in 14th in the table having won just two of their last nine games.
But Feret, wary of the way his side were caught out by struggling Evian just two weeks ago, knows Rennes cannot afford to lose focus this weekend.
He told the club website: ``The derby is always a special match and they are very tight games.
``Brest will be looking to regroup as they lost their last game at home and they need the points, they will be targeting us in the way Evian did.''
Manager Frederic Antonetti added: ``It will be difficult, Brest are a well organised team and are very athletic.
``I saw their game against Reims, where they created the better chances, and their game is very consistent.
``Against Marseille, one of the best teams in our league, they showed great resistance. We will need to be very vigilant.''
Antonetti will be without John Boye for the Brittany match-up after the Ghana defender suffered a thigh injury against Troyes that will keep him out until the new year.
