Stade de Reims v Toulouse: Preview

Reims coach Hubert Fournier feels overzealous media criticism is affecting his players' self-confidence in the struggle for an elusive Ligue 1 victory.

The north-east outfit have failed to win since early October and currently lie in 18th place and three points from safety.

A 1-0 defeat at Sochaux was Reims' eighth reverse in 13 games but Fournier feels 19th-placed Troyes, who have won two games all season, are getting an easier ride from journalists in the Champagne region.

He told Reims' official website: ``We must remain as determined as we have been so far, even though we are going through a difficult time.

``Many things are said in the media. Many of those things are not true, but we have to face up to that, it's part of life in Ligue 1.

``There is a neighbouring club who are six points behind us in the standings and they don't have the same problems.

``We just accept the situation is part of the job.''

Referring to the Sochaux game, he added: ``We should not have lost.

``We have to move forward and the best way to do so is to tackle Toulouse in our next home game.''

Reims' last win at their Stade Auguste Delaune base came at the expense of Nice on October 6, but Fournier's men have managed to claim four points from home draws since then.

Toulouse boss Alain Casanova was left to rue the departure of midfielder Moussa Sissoko to Newcastle this week, in the aftermath of a Coupe de France defeat at Paris St Germain.

``There was too big a gulf between the two side. Paris were much better than us,'' Casanova told L'Equipe.

``They showed much better mastery of the game and they were very strong when winning the ball back. So that's it.''

Casanova will make a decision on Etienne Capoue's involvement on Saturday morning. The France international is nursing an ankle injury, while captain Jonathan Zebina and midfielder Adrien Regattin remain long-term absentees for TFC.

Wissam Yedder denied Reims all three points in September's reverse fixture at the Stadium Municipial, his late goal salvaging a 1-1 draw for Toulouse.
