Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff believes the return of defender Bruno Ecuele Manga after a five-month absence will give his side a significant boost in their bid to claim a Europa League place.
Manga will return to the Lorient line-up for tomorrow's Ligue 1 trip to rock-bottom Nancy, playing for the first time since suffering serious knee ligament damage on the opening day of the season against Paris St Germain.
Gourcuff said: ``I am very excited about Bruno's return and it has got to act as a major boost to everyone. I cannot wait to see the behaviour of the team in the next series of matches.''
Lorient head into the game in sixth place and very much in touch with the teams above them after getting back to winning ways with a 3-2 win over Troyes last weekend and following that with a midweek Coupe de France victory at Sedan.
Meanwhile Nancy defender Sebastien Puygrenier has been forced into an humiliating climb-down after conceding in the wake of last week's defeat at Toulouse that his team were doomed to Ligue 2.
Nancy have not won in 20 Ligue 1 games since beating Brest on the opening day of the season, and go into the weekend clash at the Stade Marcel Picot languishing eight points adrift of safety.
Puygrenier said: Mathematically we are not at all in Ligue 2. I don't know how many chances we still have, but we will try to make the move off the bottom. The start of this year has been very tough for us.``
