Montpellier striker John Utaka is not motivated by revenge as he prepares to face former club Rennes once again in Ligue 1.
The Nigerian had an unhappy return to Rennes last month as his current side were beaten in the semi-finals of the League Cup.
The champions are now hoping to reverse that result as they meet again at La Mosson with little to choose between the two sides.
The clubs are locked together in sixth and seventh, separated only on goal difference.
Utaka, who played at Rennes from 2005-07 before a spell in England with Portsmouth, said: ``Revenge - no, but I think it is a good game to play.
``We know that there will be a good team in front of us and to win would be nice.
``Yes it is a match especially for me because I had a great year as a player there and also because this is a team that I like.
``But we will try to do everything possible to win this game.''
Montpellier are looking for a third successive win after responding to a 4-1 loss at St Etienne by beating Nancy and Evian.
They also go into the game knowing defender Cyril Jeunechamp could be back in their side before the end of the season.
The 27-year-old this week had a 12-month ban for punching a journalist reduced to six months, with a further six months suspended, on appeal. He could now be available for the final game of the campaign at Toulouse.
Cup finalists Rennes are looking to get back to winning ways after a 2-0 defeat at Lille was followed by a 2-2 home draw with Sochaux.
The Red and Blacks are having to get used to life without attacking midfielder Romain Allesandrini, who will miss the rest of the season after a cruciate ligament operation.
The 23-year-old had made a big impact this season after arriving from Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot and earned a France call-up before suffering his injury in the Lille clash.
Allesandrini said: ``I am disappointed not to experience this season and the (cup) final.
``But there may be good things for Stade Rennes. I think my team-mates can win the League Cup for me!''
Rennes are also likely to be without Ghanaian defender John Boye due to a groin injury.
