    LOOK AT ROBERTO'S SWEATER

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
Have sociologists figured out what dialect Friedel's accent comes from yet?

  •

    [Comment from Ethan]
Rarely do I feel physically ill from emotion, but my goodness.. It feels like I drank about 60 beers last night, and then followed with 20 shots of garbage vodka right now.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: He'll be here...

  •

    [Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
Wait - i thought Will Unwin moved to ITV. Where's James Tyler?!?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Team news from Spurs: Friedel still in goal, Dempsey makes his first league start.

  •

    [Comment from Shyam]
Remind me, how long was Nani out for after having his shin "cracked"?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Too bad his attitude with the national team stank this summer.

  •

    [Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
Ben Arfa looks unstoppable right now.

  •

    [Comment from EDC]
Carragher cracking open Nani's shin, nothing. Stop making excuses, Liverpool weren't good enough

  •

    [Comment from AR]
As a Liverpool fan, that was incredibly hard to take.

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
    2-0 to the Arsenal.

  •

Ravi Ubha: I've always thought that expression was rubbish. They don't even themselves out.

  •

    [Comment from JohnBrewinESPN via Twitter]
The sign of a struggling team is to play well and still lose. Individual mistakes, errors of judgement, hard-luck stories then prove costly.

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
If luck evens out Liverpool will have a good stretch.

  •

    [Comment from Conor]
Predictions for Blues-Gunners? Mine has City gaffing it up in the most painful way possible while I search for a tall bridge.

  •

    [Comment from @BP]
But they dont go both ways. SAF has the refs in his pocket

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Whats the excuse for the FA not to review and punish divers? Its seriously ruining the game. Across the pond here thats the main critique from non-fans. The flopping. And I agree

  •

    [Comment from A. Saloha]
    Interesting commentary by Giggs...

  •

    [Comment from BP]
The conspiracy theory and whining is not helping the Liverpool cause. Liverpool are not at the bottom end because of Halsey's refereeing today. Calls go both ways over the course of the season - just get on with it and start being accountable.

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
whatever happened to "home field advantage"? this was so aggravating as a liverpool. have the game stolen from you from the ref AND you have multiple injuries

  •

    [Comment from Shang]
RVP's wasn't two footed.... it was just a poor sliding tackle.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Talking to Sky.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Giggs: "Liverpool made it tough for us but we could have played better."

  •

Ravi Ubha: Giggs: "I think the last 3 or 4 years we've come here and played a lot better. We didn't play well, we didn't keep the ball well enough."

  •

    [Comment from Raza_88]
You forgot RVP's two footed lunge.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
never a penalty valencia went right to the ground with little or no contact.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Too bad for you!
Liverpool missed two good chances early in first half; Shelvey sent off after a challenge on Evans when they were both off the ground; Liverpool score through Gerrard, MOTM, great leveler by Rafael, no pen when Suarez goes down. Soft pen to United when Johnson makes contact with Valencia. Converted by RVP.

  •

    [Comment from Skyler]
Hey Ravi, quick recap for someone that slept in

  •

    [Comment from Chris]
The ref handed that game to United.

  •

    [Comment from KJ]
I can't believe i woke up at 5:30a for that.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
This league is getting worse and worse honestly... The FA has to do something about it

  •

    [Comment from Shyam]
That was physically painful to watch.

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
That was just disgusting no other words sums up the game

  •

    [Comment from Reid]
Seriously, Valencia went down before he was "tackled".

  •

    [Comment from KJ]
    MOTM: Halsey

  •

    [Comment from Colin]
Has to be the ref from ManU point of view

  •

    [Comment from Steven]
Liverpool have some great young players though. Good for the future.

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
I'd rather look like Robin than Jonjo.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Who is the man of the match? Has to be Gerrard.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
rather be named Jonjo than Robin

  •

Ravi Ubha: If they were singing during YNWA on a day like this, I'd say that wasn't good.

  •

    [Comment from WorcesterYNWA]
Utd fans were classy. They were singing Utd chants, nothing offensive.

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
    fair question by @Conor

  •

    [Comment from JohnBrewinESPN via Twitter]
I imagine the lads (surely no women) @RAWK_Meltdown are in for a busy few hours and record retweets.

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
I don't understand...removing diving from the game is simple. Suspend the offending player 4 matches for a first offense, 8 for a second, a full season for the third.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
    Valencia dive?!?!?!?!?! no way!

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
I did hear some other chanting during YWNA but not sure

  •

    Ravi Ubha: LOL

  •

    [Comment from Conor]
Forget the sending off, the better question is who names their kid Jonjo?

  •

    [Comment from WorcesterYNWA]
Poorer team? I'll have what he's smoking.

  •

Ravi Ubha: This is unconfirmed. But as mentioned, I thought I heard some singing during YNWA.

  •

    [Comment from JohnBrewinESPN via Twitter]
United played as poorly as they usually do at Anfield but Liverpool are a yet poorer team on a field day for hatstand conspiracy theorists.

  •

    [Comment from Shyam]
News around is that Manc supporters sang one of their Hillsborough songs again.

  •

    [Comment from WorcesterYNWA]
At least our youth are coming through. Suso and Sterling look very promising.

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
Bossed it after the sending off too

  •

    [Comment from VI]
And Liverpool are still whining. Nothing new.

  •

    [Comment from Canadianer]
Suarez is my absolute, positive, least favourite player...but I gotta feel for his side today. Very poorly officiated game.

  •

Ravi Ubha: United up to second in the table. Liverpool still in the bottom three.

  •

    [Comment from Best36]
and Manu got away with the help of bad refs again. nothing new

  •

Ravi Ubha: No. It wasn't advantage...

  •

    [Comment from Stephen]
Think he played advantage at the end there, which is why the foul wasn't given.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
this match just reinforced everything that is wrong with football

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
Pool and their fans should keep their heads hight. Great effort.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Liverpool will feel robbed. A sending off to Shelvey, penalty to United. Liverpool bossed the game before the sending off.

  •

Ravi Ubha: FT: Liverpool 1, United 2.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
FT. LIVERPOOL 1-2 MAN UTD. Shelvey's red card scuppered it for the Reds, who went ahead but were pegged back by Rafael and RVP's penalty

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Now it's over.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Suarez down outside the box but no foul given.

  •

    [Comment from RobGFOP]
Liverpool should just quit before they lose anyone else.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Sorry mistype!

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Not yet...

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Full time.

  •

    [Comment from Brainz]
    Man u to the world

  •

Ravi Ubha: That should do it. Suso takes down Welbeck, and we're at 95:40.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
This is absolute bull and if Evra celebrates in front of Suarez...

  •

    [Comment from Brainz]
    Go man u go

  •

    [Comment from JJ]
    when it rains..

  •

Ravi Ubha: Probably will be an extra minute after the injury to Kelly.

  •

    [Comment from Jet_SJ]
this is a massive blow to LFC, red card, injuries and lost after taking the lead and dominating most of the match

  •

Ravi Ubha: He's not coming back, so 9 men to see out this last minute.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Walking off gingerly. Already a defender down after Agger's injury.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Oh good more injuries. We are the unluckiest

  •

    [Comment from ArsenalGent via Twitter]
#GentsXI: Substitutionals. Martins, Dewsbury, Saint, Cockleton, Fenton, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Goring-Hildred. Manager Mr. Alan Windsor.

  •

    [Comment from Ryan]
Liverpool could be bottom by the end of the day...

  •

    [Comment from Jet_SJ]
This is the classic example of you make your own luck

  •

    [Comment from KJ]
    Oh that doesn't look good

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
    OW, Kelly.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
it's not conspiracy it's gross incompetence.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Ooh, that looks painful. Kelly looks like he twisted his right knee. Awkward fall.

  •

    [Comment from WorcesterYNWA]
In Istanbul, we won it 5 times. Keep your heads up lads.

  •

    [Comment from RobGFOP]
    Keep away time.

  •

    [Comment from IscoWordPlayer]
funny how they say things like biased calls when man utd is not the champions

  •

    [Comment from Derek]
    Enough with the conspiracy theories...

  •

Ravi Ubha: 2 minutes of the five gone.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Evans on the ground after a challenge by Henderson.

  •

    [Comment from Chris]
If the ref was in Fergies pocket, there wouldn't be 5 minutes of added time.

  •

    [Comment from Frozen_North]
Blame your team for not winning, seriously get over your ref whining

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
That third official must not have got his weekly man utd stipend, 5 minutes is a lot when man utd is up

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Yes!

  •

    [Comment from Conor]
Will you guys be sticking around for City-Arsenal?

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
Maybe if the ref wasn't terrible we would'nt complain

  •

    [Comment from Shyam]
I was under the impression that Tackles required contact...

  •

Ravi Ubha: 5 mins of added time.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Ashley Young just fell out of his seat, penalty to man u

  •

    [Comment from Frozen_North]
Maybe if Liverpool converted their chances, there wouldn't be so much crying.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Corner to United. It's where they want to see the ball with the game winding down.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
here comes wellbeck. queue another PK.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: LOL.

  •

    [Comment from Roy]
Demote this ref to U9 games in greenland

  •

    [Comment from ricardo]
    rafael milking one too

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
Seriously 'Arry's missus could have called a better game than this clown Halsey.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Rafael off, for Welbeck. Valencia will likely move into the back four.

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
but it was an obvious penalty with a tackle from behind

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
    go united

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Approaching the 90.

  •

    [Comment from Sanchini]
IoI they cut the crowd mic after that throw in

  •

    [Comment from WorcesterYNWA]
Man Utd win again via atrocious officiating. Typical. On to the next one...

  •

Ravi Ubha: Don't you know it.

  •

    [Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
Nice work by the audio editor there! He saved us from a barrage of scouse cursing there!

  •

    [Comment from Alex]
    switching to the Newcastle/Norwich game

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
He did have a choice, he's the ref!

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
I didn't know that there were replacement refs in the epl

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
it was an obvious penalty he had no choice

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Destroyed, too?

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
    I am emotionally estroyed

  •

Ravi Ubha: He has to call the game like he sees it. Don't think he's seen it well.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
Why would a ref do this especially after what happened this past week

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
    @JoeFlow17 before the pen

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
    so much for building bridges.

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
Liverpool persecution complex is annoying...and this is coming from a Gooner.

  •

    [Comment from Fergies Gob]
Hardly a mirror image in that at least Shelvey's was a 50/50 ball...

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
Can't be proud to win this way if you are a Manchester supporter. Almost feels rigged.

  •

    [Comment from ricardo]
hope man u enjoys their gift today

  •

    [Comment from Best36]
can we get some consistency from this ref?

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@TSwan313 it was, but Johnson gave ref easy decision

  •

    [Comment from paul]
How is it a mirror image? He got the ball and barely made contact with Suso

  •

    [Comment from Shyam]
A Manchester United player would surely NEVER feign injury. Right guys?

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
no way that is a red

  •

Ravi Ubha: And Liverpool fans more livid now that a free kick has been given against them.

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@rconnerty because it was a lunge and gave ref no option. Stupid.

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
hardly a mirror image of the other challenge not even close

  •

    [Comment from ssarmazi]
This biased refereeing is truly sickening.

  •

    [Comment from ricrado]
so sad. thats a red if the other one is.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
The FA should break their own rules and make a rematch game witha better ref

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
    Same lunge as Shelvey. Wow.

  •

    [Comment from Alex]
Gets the ball. One footed. Maybe yellow, but never gonna be red there.

  •

    [Comment from Raza_88]
So thats not a red! Utd have 12 men vs 10

  •

    [Comment from Ryan]
Actually, RvP left his feet from further away, and didn't come away with the ball

  •

    [Comment from Mihai]
    CMON NOW LFC

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Wow on the reply STUDS up for rvp

  •

Ravi Ubha: Maybe if he would have...

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Props to suso for not making a meal of it

  •

    [Comment from john]
Two footed challenge by RVP gets off lightly

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
It doesn't matter this refereree is garbage

  •

    [Comment from Ronwol]
    RVP diabolical

  •

    [Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
That should be a red for RVP

  •

    [Comment from A. Saloha]
What was that??? That was a near mirror image tackle!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Only difference was RVP didn't make much contact with Suso, but it was a bad one. Yellow.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Van Persie slides in with a challenge on Suso and Liverpool are outraged.

  •

    [Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
    @tomEurosport #foreheadsgone

  •

Ravi Ubha: Great ball from Johnson into the box, Kelly is in the middle, but his glancing header is a yard wide to the near post.

  •

    [Comment from Callum_TH via Twitter]
What an absolute mugging this is. Fantastic.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Almost the leveler!

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
I quite liked the 'banter' between Ferguson and Carragher.

  •

    [Comment from Roy]
How can anyone enjoy a Manu goal like that?

  •

    [Comment from Best36]
So sick of Refs deciding games. Even the most delusional of manu fan cant really think they deserve anything out of this game

  •

    [Comment from ricardo]
So sad that the referee blew this one. Soft soft penalty.

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
Pool deserve the draw here. They've been the better team even with a man down

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
Even if Reina had saved it, the ref would've given a retake just to spite Liverpool

  •

    [Comment from Tom]
Can we please mention how LFC quality this year does not match their record?

  •

    [Comment from KJ]
    This is so depressing...

  •

    [Comment from Best36]
The problem with bad referring decision is the FA never look at them

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
RVP you've done nothing the whole game and you were gifted a PK for doing nothing like a trust fund baby.

  •

    [Comment from Casey]
whew. was getting worried i put RVP in my fantasy team for nothing

  •

Ravi Ubha: Hernandez on for Kagawa.

  •

    [Comment from John]
    Reina was THIS close.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Reina guessed right, just not tall enough

  •

    [Comment from A. Saloha]
Damn. He guessed the correct side

  •

    [Comment from Anthony]
    He almost missed that...

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
Man City team: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Garcia, Y. Toure, Silva, Sinclair, Dzeko, Aguero

  •

Ravi Ubha: Reina slamming the turf in frustration.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
Arsenal team: Mannone, Diaby, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Podolski, Ramsey, Cazorla, Jenkinson, Gervinho

  •

Ravi Ubha: Well, almost saved by Reina, who guessed right and got a hand to it.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
GOAL! RVP steps up and ends the Man Utd hoodoo from the spot. 2-1. But only just as Reina got a hand on it.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: 2-1 United.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: GOAL

  •

    [Comment from Dave]
Just take the shot, RVP. No funny stuff.

  •

    [Comment from Yank]
football is more theater than sport.

  •

    [Comment from Vic]
it was iffy enough that the ref could have let it go...

  •

Ravi Ubha: Here comes the PK.

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
There's Halsey with the gift Fergie pen I alluded to earlier.

  •

    [Comment from Chris]
For everyone saying "No penalty", if evra had done that to suarez, you would have been adament that it was a PK. As a neutral, you see johnson take valencia down, how can it be anything but a peno?

  •

    [Comment from JamesHMartin via Twitter]
This game is showing how important a player's reputation is for diving ( Suarez v. Valencia)

  •

    [Comment from Shyam]
How is it a clear penalty? Johnson didn't even touch Valencia!

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
Johnson wasn't complaining because he was recovering from running into Reina

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Hence the delay.
    Carragher to come on.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Going off on a stretcher.

  •

    [Comment from Jake]
and daniel anger is hurt. I hate my life.

  •

    [Comment from Paul]
Is Howard Webb the referee for this game?

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
Neutrally: it's a pretty clear pen

  •

    [Comment from Raza_88]
Valencia was already falling beforehand; this is ridiculous.

  •

Ravi Ubha: The more you see it, it looks harsh.

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
this is ridicolous. are you kidding right now. no contact whatsoever

  •

    [Comment from JamesHMartin via Twitter]
Can #mufc do the impossible -- score from the spot???

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@foleyandy no, I was on the piss

  •

    [Comment from Justin]
    That cannot be a penalty.

  •

    [Comment from A. Saloha]
    :\ typical

  •

    [Comment from Anthony]
I know. I was saying that a little tongue in cheek. He's just the only one I trust

  •

    [Comment from Ali]
Bravo Referee bravo, Man of the Match

  •

    [Comment from KJ]
So soft, SO soft... but typically, ManU gets the call

  •

    [Comment from Alex]
    not a PK

  •

    [Comment from Alex]
Didn't someone say that United would get a penalty earlier in this chat?

  •

    [Comment from ChrisNYC]
    Clear penalty...no contact

  •

    [Comment from Willie]
    Soft

  •

    [Comment from Ryan]
That's soft. Not outright terrible, but pretty soft

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Wow that was weak, valencia was already on his way down.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Injured

  •

    [Comment from Anthony]
Where is Rooney for these pens??

  •

    [Comment from John]
Is Nani going to run in and take it without permission?

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
    Dive....

  •

    [Comment from Travis]
Kicks him in the knee, penalty.

  •

    [Comment from KJ]
    He was already going down?

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
    Barely nicked him

  •

    [Comment from john]
    Valencia was falling beforehand

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
    Stupid from Johnson

  •

    Ravi Ubha: RVP to take

  •

Ravi Ubha: Man U have missed 3 straight pens

  •

    [Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
    Please let RVP take it.

  •

    [Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
    Was that a dive?

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
    wow.

  •

    [Comment from Jake]
    are you kidding....?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Yeah, looked like a pen. His right leg on Valencia's left peg.

PENALTY TO MAN UTD. Valencia gets away and Glen Johnson nicks him from behind just as he is about to shoot.

  •

Ravi Ubha: No complaints from Johnson...

  •

Ravi Ubha: He goes in alone! Pen!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Valencia on the break

Quite impressed by Liverpool, really hope they give Rodgers time

  •

I'm betting before the end of the game, ref will dish out another yellow to an already booked Man U player... even things out.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Imagine if we had a full 11 men. #surprising

  •

Ravi Ubha: Chicharito about to come on.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Really? Even after going down to 10 men?

  •

    [Comment from Garret]
Any other day a draw with Manchester United might seem a good result, but with only two points from four games, you have to feel like another draw today would feel like a loss for Liverpool.

  •

    Suso the next stirling? Ha

  •

    [Comment from Andre]
    Suso is a talented lad

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
I can't remember a player with more fantastic buildup play and less finishing talent than Suarez.

  •

Suso has a gret future. Mark my words.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Public Service Announcement: Liverpool still down to 10 men. Amazing?!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Van Persie has been poor today. Yes, not much service, but when he's had half chances, nothing good has come out of it. His cross from a threatening spot in the box finds a Liverpool defender...

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Twenty minutes remaining.

  •

    [Comment from Garret]
Suarez almost made something amazing out of nothing there.

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
Sterling is in my opinion much better than the ox

  •

    Suso has been good.

    shot #50 for Suarez.

  •

    [Comment from A. Saloha]
Wow! Fizzed cross goal that shot from Suarez!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Kelly on the right, to Suso, plays in Suarez and his grass skimmer from a tight angle flashes across goal about a yard from the goal line.

  •

    [Comment from Joe]
Hendo was good vs young boys. Different competition though this is.

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
Maybe Rodgers is trying to make changes that Fergie would have never planned for. He'll either be a genius or idiot. Robbie Fowler is about to sub on...

  •

Ravi Ubha: That's where he made a name for himself at Sunderland, not on the wing.

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
I like Henderson when allowed to play centrally. LFC has a good young core of midfield talent

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
    No Sterling is better.

  •

    [Comment from Joe]
No hendo is not as bad as arshavin.

  •

    [Comment from A. Saloha]
Settling for a draw with that move bringing Henderson on I fear

  •

    [Comment from Garret]
I don't like the substitution. I know Rodgers is worried about fast-tracking and over-relying on Sterling, but he's been brilliant today.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Yet to really get off the mark this season, AOC.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Was it like Wenger taking off the Ox last season vs. United?

  •

Uh oh here comes henderson.. prepare the mediocrity

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Oh yea the deep flesh wound. Looked ugly

  •

Ravi Ubha: Great work by Suarez, who bamboozles Ferdinand. He dishes it off to Suso, who forces a save from Lindegaard. He's been bright, the young sub.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Arsenal doesn't have divers because the Diva routine is left to Wegner

Suarez diving as usual. Where are all those Pool fans who have been calling for Gerrard's head in the last few weeks? The legend is rising to the occasion again; that ball to Sterling was amazing.

    [Comment from Jake J]
Scholes to be sent off has got to be even money right now..

  •

    [Comment from Travis]
Of course Suarez went down easy, that's what he does. Just the same, Scholes got his yellow for a classic bad tackle. You'd think he'd have learned to tackle in his career.

  •

    [Comment from Adam]
Superb tackle by Scholes on Sterling in the box though.

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
People - Suarez has to take 100 shots to score 1 goal. Not good odds. You're better off hoping Stevie Gets the ball within 25 yds of the goal two or three times.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Another red coming up?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Scholes yellow for going in on Sterling.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Replay: Evans did make contact with Suarez's boot, but he did go down theatrically.

that is a lame decision by the referee

  •

Ravi Ubha: I agree on Evans' tackle. How many times do we see a pen given when a defender goes through the back of a player to win the ball? It happened for United at Southampton.

  •

    [Comment from Matt C]
Evans won the tackle with both feet studs up. Regardless of whether he won the tackle,it's still an illegal tackle. Should have just been a yellow to Shelvey. A straight red that early in the game in a huge match is unacceptable. Not saying Shelvey's tackle wasn't reckless, but they both came in a little squirrely.

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
LOL ManU fans are certainly spoiled and used to Fergie's dark arts seeing them through.

  •

    [Comment from Ranch dressing]
There have been double reds in fights and whatnot, but I've never seen one in a challenge

  •

Hard challenges into the ball are reds now apparently...

  •

    [Comment from Anthony]
50/50 ball. No way that can be a red card. I realize Jonjo went in hard, but so did Evans...

  •

    [Comment from JohnBrewinESPN via Twitter]
Jonjo Shelvey commits a red-card challenge and then blames Fergie for it? Not sure I follow his logic. Did Fergie tell him to do it?

  •

    [Comment from Henri]
I'm failing to see how SAF had anything to do with this call. Shelvey was out of control. Evans made contact with the ball. On replay it actually looks worse because Shelvey's cleat makes contact with Evans Knee.

  •

    [Comment from Paul]
appalling?! you've obviously never given nor received a good tackle

  •

    [Comment from Willie]
An incident with Sagna and arsenal double red I believe

  •

    [Comment from Seth]
I cannot wait till later in the year when another team gets a red card because of a foul like that. No one will be saying "It is because of Fergie," people will be just mad at the ref. Do not blame a coach. Blame the ref. Howard Webb on the other hand is a whole different stroy.

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
I do not understand people saying that was two-footed. Left foot not close to evans

  •

    [Comment from Anthony]
LOL man Liverpool fans are certainly bitter. That tackle was awful! Did it deserve a red in this type of game, probably not. But the tackle was absolutely appalling.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Great question...no, I haven't. Has anyone out there?

  •

    [Comment from Duck]
Ravi, have you ever seen a double red card from a challenge?

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
I just call it a pink card and leave it there.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Here's my last word on the incident: I'm sticking with it being a yellow. And they both should have been cautioned.

  •

    [Comment from Garret]
Has Shelvey been training with Paul Scholes lately?

Ummmm Evans went in two-footed...and left his feet. So just because he got "hurt" and then magically "healed" Shelvey gets the red?

  •

    [Comment from Ronwol]
ref was harsh in giving a red but itw as a dangerous tackle and the ref can see that Shelvey is merciless from some other tackles he made earlier.

  •

    [Comment from Carl]
It looked pretty bad in real time. Don't think it has anything to do with it being "manu" A replay would change his mind I think but just like Spearing as you said

  •

    [Comment from Paul]
if you are going to punish shelvey with a red card (even though it was a yellow at worse) then you need to punish evra with reckless challenge on sterling

  •

Ravi Ubha: That was from Gary Lineker.

  •

    [Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
"Shelvey gets a red card for reckless tackle. Slightly harsh but can't take risks like that in modern game."

  •

    [Comment from JamesHMartin via Twitter]
Seriously, who's doing these possession stats. 53% for Liverpool? Surely they had more. Much more.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Reminded me of when Spearing was sent off a while back...

  •

Ravi Ubha: Maybe it would have. He'd perhaps have seen that the tackle didn't look as bad as it appeared.

  •

    [Comment from Travis]
Thing is though, the referee had a good look at it. He wouldn't change that decision based on a video. It wouldn't have shown him anything new like it might in some other situations.

  •

    [Comment from NY Pool]
As an American that has grown to love English football, I still believe video review is necessary for all goals and red cards...you just cannot leave a game to the whims of a split-second decision. It's ridiculous.

Whenever United get calls there way its all of a sudden Fergie paying the ref. Yet calls like that happen in every game not just United games. Get over it. Its apart of the game.

  •

    [Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
The most important question is how the hell is Liverpool still winless?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Shelvey was out of control, charging like a bull, but the actual challenge/contact wasn't as malicious.

  •

Ravi Ubha: No way was it worse.

  •

    [Comment from Yolo]
It was worse than luiz challenge, but that one deserved red, so...

  •

Ravi Ubha: And the thing about the Luiz incident was that because he got a yellow, he can't be further punished.

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
Fergie pulling the puppet Halsey's strings from the touchline

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
Just take out Borini... Hasn't made much of an impact...

  •

    [Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
Yeah, but eveyone knows Luiz got lucky and everyone's critical of that ref. I think it was a very dangerous tackle by Shelvey... unlucky to get a Red, but I don't think it's such a horrible decision.

  •

    [Comment from john]
I just do not understand how after not giving ANY cards previously that gets a red

  •

    [Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Shelvey tackle not worse than Luiz's yesterday. Still stupid, mind.

  •

    [Comment from Ronwol]
Think Suarez will win this one though

  •

Ravi Ubha: Lindegaard comfortably palms away Suarez's long distance FK.

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
There's your game. Love it when the referee is the deciding factor. Why we play the game.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Luiz's challenge on Jon Walters yesterday was so much worse, and he got a yellow. No consistency.

  •

Ravi Ubha: I was just thinking that.

  •

    [Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
That looked exactly like the tackle that Evans used to derail Stu Holden's career.

  •

    [Comment from Drew]
DISGRACE. More miserable luck for Pool.

  •

    [Comment from Adam]
That's a harsh red, considering the previous decisions Hasley made.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
    The ref to the rescue

  •

    [Comment from Toby]
    Wasn't a Red for me

  •

    [Comment from Ronwol]
    dangerous tackle

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
    Not two-footed...

  •

    [Comment from Andre]
I wonder how much did Fergie pay the ref for that RED CARD.. Mm..

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Game over. Unbelievable. No cards and all of a sudden its a red. Barely any fouls called until now

  •

    [Comment from Alex]
    Has to be a yellow.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
    BULL!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Both feet off the ground, his right boot makes contact on Evans. Hmm...not sure.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
RED CARD: Jonjo Shelvey sent off for a two-footed tackle on Jonny Evans

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
    Wow ruined

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
    surely it cant be red

  •

    [Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
    Oh, Jonjo.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: He's off.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: RED

  •

    Ravi Ubha: To Shelvey.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Uh oh...card coming. What color?

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
This game is making me dislike Nani slowly more and more. He just gives away the ball like its his job.

  •

Ravi Ubha: No end to his domination from Liverpool.
    Hair dryer treatment?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Totally agree. Some nifty footwork from Sterling creates a chance, but his shot is blocked.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
Liverpool have to score before the half...

  •

    [Comment from JJ]
Hugely overrated player, Carrick (from a united fan)

  •

Ravi Ubha: At last check, 66-34.

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
    whats the possession percentage?

  •

    [Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
Nani again. SAF should give him the hook at the half

  •

    [Comment from JJ]
Carrick never seems to get into these kinds of tight games. Never should have started

  •

Ravi Ubha: Sloppy, sloppy Carrick pass intercepted by Johnson.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Wasted corner, overshot.

  •

    [Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@germccarthy74 not unlike any football match Ger!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Suarez wins yet another corner.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Suarez would have scored if the net was just expanded another 20 yards wide and 10 yards high

  •

Ravi Ubha: That's Halsey for you.

  •

    [Comment from Adam]
How in the world isn't that a card on Evra?

  •

    [Comment from Toby]
    Evra has been so disappointing!

  •

Ravi Ubha: And another chance for Suarez. Gerrard's cross finds his head, but he plants it straight - into the stands.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
    Anfield explodes after that foul

  •

    [Comment from Jim]
    Evra. Calm down

  •

Ravi Ubha: Sterling taken down by Evra outside the box, to Lindegaard's left. A few inches more and it would have been a pen.

  •

    [Comment from Jim]
Suarez has an eye for a pass though. When he wants to

  •

Ravi Ubha: Just passed the half-hour mark.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Dempsey can play striker and unlike every other LFC player can finish

  •

    [Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
Van Persie must be so frustrated. All alone on Skrtlagger island.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
Suarez is like the ball-hog on your youth soccer team... Never gives it away but knows what hes doing.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Amazing to me that LFC nickle-and-dimed (they are US owners) themselves out of getting Dempsey

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
splash the money on falcao. or cavani itll be worth it, some real goal machines that are actually worth the big price tag

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Im baffled by the decision not to spend a few more million for demsey. American for american owners. Was he just too much of another attacking midfielder? And not a pure striker?

  •

Ravi Ubha: As usual, Suarez looking lively in the box. Not much end product.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Two decent chances for Liverpool so far, but nothing for United. Liverpool must press home this territorial advantage.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Still not quite sure how they let Carroll go but didn't bring anyone in.

  •

    [Comment from USA-Red]
In the winter LFC should sign a proper backup keeper and a few more attacking options

  •

    [Comment from JJ]
35 yards, aka Ronaldo range... bring him back

  •

    [Comment from Josh]
I fear RVP will have a moment of magic against the run of play and spoil the day for the Reds. Story of the year(s) lately.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Was he seriously going to score from there? I'd be going bonkers if I was the manager.

  •

Ravi Ubha: A real waste, as Nani shoots over the bar.

  •

Ravi Ubha: About 35 yards from goal.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Nice piece of skill by Carrick in his own half to work some space for himself and begin a United move upfield. United wins a free kick when Rafael takes a tumble.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Gerrard attempts to swerve in another cross, from the right, but Carrick gets his back in the way.

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
I have a feeling sahin will come in early as a sub...jonjo or borini will go off, depending on whos less influential

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
In many European fixtures, two holding kids useful as well. Move for the future expectations?

  •

Ravi Ubha: That's funny, John. (He says Shelvey looks anywhere from 18 to 50.)

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
That could have been called. Not with this ref but others could have called it.

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
Sahin has more of a chance to be similar player to Xabi

  •

Ravi Ubha: Well, Liverpool is bossing possession, so at the moment, not too good.

  •

    [Comment from JJ]
I lost my feed on a train to NYC, how is United's midfield looking?

  •

Ravi Ubha: For this game, yes, you could see why starting two holding midfielders makes sense. But generally Liverpool at home should only really be starting one.

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
He and Lucas could play the two shielding midfielders in 4-2-3-1 and give more freedom to the attacking mid

  •

    [Comment from Southy]
He's no Xavi.Xavi make forward passes

  •

Ravi Ubha: Gerrard in the mood. And Rio hurt.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Was there a pen? Not according to Halsey when Daniel Agger goes down in the box after a peach of a ball from Gerrard.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Corner to Gerrard, cut out by RVP.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Xabi (Alonso) is different class....sorry.

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
No. He fits the system. Does xabi have too many square balls?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Kelly's low cross cleared by a diving Evans.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Too many square balls?

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
He has been excellent in every appearance. Like a little terrier closing down in midfield

  •

    [Comment from Riley]
Classy player. Would like to see him farther up the pitch

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
incredible!! love the lad!!! will be the next xavi god willing ;)

  •

Ravi Ubha: Overall. Was he worth the money? Lucas is a similar player.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
on a season level or this game?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Hey Pool fans, what's your take on Joe Allen so far?

  •

    [Comment from Jake]
Story of Liverpool's season thus far; play well, create chances, don't finish

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
wud love to see sterling score on such a big day!! what a first goal that wud be

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
Enrique's pace would be useful today against united's wingers

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
cmonnn borini!!! we cant keep misfiring

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
    BORINI!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Another player falls and no whistle. Halsey has to be careful, because the more of these contact challenges he doesn't call, the greater the chance for some nasty ones later in the game.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Borini's struggles continue. Suarez puts through Borini, but his first touch is poor and the chance is gone.

  •

    [Comment from gerardo]
Either way good. Kelly is just as good as him and he attacks as well. Not much of a difference.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Halsey being pretty lenient so far. Johnson on the left falls under a challenging from Rafael -- but it looks like he got that one right. Johnson was going down before contact.

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
i think captain fantastic will be the difference maker, score the winning goal late :)

  •

Ravi Ubha: Sure looks like that.

  •

    [Comment from gerardo]
Is Enriquez being phased out in favor of Martin Kelly?

  •

Ravi Ubha: First sighting of van Persie. Wanted a free kick when he was challenged by Kelly, but nothing given.

  •

Ravi Ubha: A good start for the neutral. Chances at either end.

  •

    [Comment from NY Pool]
Sterling and Suarez look good in combination early on

  •

Ravi Ubha: And for the record, the previous ball didn't go off the post. Just a parry.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Off the corner, a free run for Gerrard he slides in and his shot to the near post goes narrowly wide.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
Gerrard hits into the side netting after a well worked corner. Liverpool have had a few good chances so far espnfc.com/uk/en/gamecast…

  •

    Ravi Ubha: But no.

  •

Ravi Ubha: I thought they scored!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Good cross by Sterling -- the youngest player to play in this fixture, TV reports - but Rafael clears again for a corner.

  •

    [Comment from cali kop]
jonjo and allen lookin good early. need to hold the ball more and settle down.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Suarez crosses and Lindegaard parries, and I think it went off the post. Gerrard was lurking but couldn't put in the rebound.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Almost for the Reds!

  •

Ravi Ubha: Edge of the box, center, he shoots across goal and it's about two yards wide.

  •

Ravi Ubha: First chance, to Giggs.

  •

    [Comment from Jacob]
    Why is Vidic not playing?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Great ball from Gerrard to Suarez, but took his eye off the ball and it goes out.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
I am contemplating adding lindegaard for mine

  •

Ravi Ubha: Short corner, fed back to Gerrard, whose cross is cleared by Rafael.

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Gerrard to take.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Early in these games can be frenetic...

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
Shelvey wasteful in possession so far. Not a good sign.

  •

Ravi Ubha: First corner, and it's Johnson who has won it.

  •

Ravi Ubha: I also chose Defoe over Lambert as I made a striking switch....

  •

Ravi Ubha: I took out Johnson and Gerrard from my dream team this week...I bet they do damage.

  •

Ravi Ubha: First touch for Lindegaard, who hoofs the ball on the volley.

  •

    [Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
@thefarmerjones How magnanimous of you. :)

  •

Ravi Ubha: Be sure: He hasn't been top notch.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Bad clearance by reina, I hate to ask but has he lost his edge? I adore him but not sure he's been top notch this season

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Game on! What we are here for..

  •

Ravi Ubha: Nani is bundled over on the left as he prepares to cross but no foul.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Very early on, United controlling the ball in the Liverpool half.

  •

  •

    Ravi Ubha: We're off.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Last word on this, but I indeed thought I heard United fans (some) singing and chanting during You'll Never Walk Alone, and they weren't joining in.

  •

    [Comment from Aaron]
Scenes from Anfield giving me chills

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Crowd looks neat with "The truth" and other words on papers being held up. Nice.

  •

    [Comment from JeffPhiladelphia]
I am proud of EVRA & SUAREZ! - You showed that you are men & not kids.

  •

    [Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
I'm exhausted and the game hasn't even started.

  •

Ravi Ubha: You had to, Jade.

  •

    [Comment from Jade]
Holy moly!! It's early here in the States!!! Glad I woke up in time.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone...(although I do hear some other chanting in the background. Honestly don't you who or what is being said)

  •

Ravi Ubha: Liverpool can't afford to be without Suarez for another extended period this season.

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
I think evra is easily to blame for last years lack of success for liverpool. Suarez was on fire until he was suspended based on those loose subjective accusations from evra. After he came back he did not look in good form and thus we all know how liverpools scoring record finished..

  •

Ravi Ubha: Most of the United fans were joining in.

  •

Ravi Ubha: So far a great start, in terms of the show of solidarity.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Good shake between Bobby Charlton and Ian Rush, as he hands over 96 roses. Giggs plays his part in releasing the balloons, as the fans applaud.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
    Kickoff is almost here for #MUFC v. #LFC tinyurl.com/bt6owjc

  •

Ravi Ubha: Let's hope we have a good one. An early goal would be fab.

  •

    [Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
And the handshake is over. Both Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra have done it. Now let's get on with the game.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Well, I think. Looked pretty quick, though.

  •

Ravi Ubha: And they do shake!

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Handshake time!

  •

James Tyler: @tigersan06 -- We'll be starting a NEW chat at 10.30am ET for City vs. Arsenal.

    Find that here:
    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature/_/id/1167252/instant-analysis:-manchester-city-vs.-arsenal?cc=5901

  •

Ravi Ubha: Mark Halsey is the ref. He's usually one to keep his hand in his pocket. Mostly good, but then, Halsey was pretty bad in Tottenham vs. Norwich.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Teams in the tunnel, Gerrard and Giggs not looking at each other all that much...

  •

    [Comment from Guest]
fine with henderson on the bench, but downing not even available? i think he's alright, worthy of at least availability

  •

Ravi Ubha: Yes, indeed, so make sure you stay with us for that.

  •

    [Comment from tigersan06]
Will this instant analysis covers City vs Arsenal game?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Another thing to keep an eye on: The keepers. Lindegaard has been in and out of the lineup as Fergie doesn't completely trust De Gea, and Reina's form has been poor.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Maurice, Liverpool has to bury its chances. Sounds simple, but has proved anything but in the last year. As always, the midfield is usually where the game is won, so Allen and Shelvey will look to take it to the United midfield. Shelvey is more the bulldog of the two.

  •

    [Comment from Maurice]
Ravi, keys to victory for each team please. Cheers

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Paul, I agree, Enrique should be in the midfield, some of his defending last week was miserable (or was 2 games ago)

  •

    [Comment from zaphod]
Thats way cool for sterling. Good for him, he has been one of the few impressive surprises (besides how terrible downing still looks). Ive been quite impressed with him

  •

Ravi Ubha: Sean, you're being too kind. Liverpool is 18th, not 17th.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Speaking of which, Henderson on bench, Downing not in squad. Adam probably watching from Stoke!

  •

Ravi Ubha: I guess of all the buys, though, last year, he wasn't so bad...

  •

    [Comment from Paul]
surprised enrique not starting although he can regress into some shocking defending at times

  •

Ravi Ubha: Ivan, Liverpool is unbeaten in the last five at home vs. United, winning four times, so that's a good sign. Last season it ended 1-1 in the league, and the Reds won 2-1 in the FA Cup.

  •

    [Comment from Ivan]
Hi Ravi, Do you think there is a possibility for liverpool to win?

  •

    [Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
Watching on Sky: Apparently Raheem Sterling is the youngest Liverpool player to ever play in this fixture! Pretty cool, huh?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Fergie on handshake: "I wouldn't anticipate any problem." Rodgers echoes the sentiment.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Fergie: "We have to show that unity..."
Rodgers: "It's two iconic clubs, with fantastic supporters...We have an obligation to football."

  •

Ravi Ubha: Fergie and Rodgers doing the pre-game interview -- together. A mark of unity.

  •

    [Comment from Paul]
Anfield must be absolutely electric right now

  •

Ravi Ubha: Jose Enrique must be a little miffed that he's on the bench for the game again.

  •

    [Comment from Jake]
I think United should have begun with Hernandez alongside kagawa... Put some pressure on Kelly and Skrtel who aren't great with the ball at their feet. We shall see how United's new pair do at Anfield though

  •

    [Comment from Paul]
if there was ever a moment for liverpool to turn this dreadful start upside down, today is the day

  •

Ravi Ubha: I'm sure Fergie will address that pre-game, but again, he was injured for a large chunk last season. Maybe he's feeling something.

  •

    [Comment from Ad]
why is Vidic not even on the bench?!

  •

Ravi Ubha: I've been impressed, as have most others, with Sterling. Fearless, and his crosses are usually spot on. Shelvey played well midweek and he's acquitted himself well generally this season.

  •

    [Comment from Nathan]
I think Buttner would have been a better choice for Ferguson, and Rodgers made the right choice to play sterling and shelvey

  •

    [Comment from John Henry]
What's the difference between Liverpool and a triangle? A triangle has three points.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Hi Gerald, Liverpool need a big boost, and the Reds have a good recent record against United at Anfield. I suspect the home team will come out flying in the first 15-20 minutes. If United can withstand the charge, it would make for a good start. I'm going for a 1-1.

  •

    [Comment from Gerald]
Hi Ravi, how do you see this game unravelling?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Anywhere from 45-60 mins before the game.

  •

    [Comment from Matt]
what time do lineups typically get announced?

  •

Ravi Ubha: Manny, Lindegaard and De Gea was a toss up; Vidic is obviously injured or being rested after his serious injury last season.

  •

    [Comment from john]
Looking at the lineups- i feel this game is too big for kelly...should LFC be playing enrique at LB and move johnson over to RB

  •

    Ravi Ubha: Teams:
Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Gerrard, Allen, Shelvey, Borini, Suarez, Sterling. Subs: Jones, Jose Enrique, Sahin, Assaidi, Henderson, Carragher, Fernandez Saez.

Man Utd: Lindegaard, Da Silva, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Nani, van Persie. Subs: De Gea, Anderson, Hernandez, Welbeck, Scholes, Cleverley, Buttner.

  •

    [Comment from manny]
Gooooooodmorning for dearborn, mi USA! your take on fergie shuffling the line ups this much?? seems risky but could yet prove to be a success at the end of the season

  •

Ravi Ubha: Let's hope the fans behave themselves and Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra shake hands. They're both in the starting lineup.

  •

Ravi Ubha: It will be an emotional day at Anfield, being the first home game since the Hillsborough findings were made public. 96 balloons will be released by the captains before kickoff.

  •

Ravi Ubha: Liverpool is in desperate need of a win. It's the first time since 1911 Liverpool hasn't won any of its first four games.

  •

  •

  •

Ravi Ubha: Hi, everyone, and welcome to one of the biggest games in club football: Liverpool vs. Manchester United.
