James Tyler: Adieu, you brave bootroomers. Au revoir.
James Tyler: @JamesTylerESPN
@rogbennett
James Tyler: Cheers, Rog! A pleasure as always. Check us on Twitter, Xanga, Facebook, Friendster, LiveJournal and the like.
James Tyler: Your comments, wit and wisdoms were greatly appreciated. We'll do this again very soon! Champions League, or next weekend, or tomorrow. Who knows! Keep checking ESPNFC.com for future chats. And the other content's decent too.
[Comment from Skyler]
LOL I am sorry Rog.
Roger Bennett: Rock on JT...
Roger Bennett: Being Liverpool Sklyer. Being Liverpool. It's real.
James Tyler: And thank you all -- except Rog -- for being gentle about Liverpool's misery.
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
FT. MAN CITY 1-1 ARSENAL. Arsenal hold City at home thanks to a late goal from Laurent Koscielny.
[Comment from Skyler]
Why are there no late afternoon games this weekend? It makes me slightly sick to my stomach that it has to end this early
James Tyler: Thanks so much for joining us for this one. Spurs with about 45 seconds to hang on.
Roger Bennett: Championship trophy is still a trophy JT. Focus on the positives.
[Comment from Raza_88]
The defense was the main highlight for Arsenal; Arteta and Cazorla flawless as usual, but we need to decide the best front 3.
Roger Bennett: Follow us on the Twits...
@rogbennett (onion bagel)
@jamestylerespn (everything bagel)
James Tyler: Roger, I'm sea sick and I'm sat on my couch. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Only 34 or so games of this to go!
James Tyler: Thinking City fans will be furious as the points dropped. A real counter-attacking effort for City at home. Little impetus, not many meaningful chances. Was set up nicely for a stolen victory from a more deserving team.
Roger Bennett: Feels like you are reading the table upside down, right JT?
[Comment from Justin]
How strange is it to look at the table and see Everton and West Brom in 3 and 4 after 5 rounds?
James Tyler: Indeed, Tom. We have almost reached an end of things. Almost. Things will soon cease to be happening.
[Comment from Tom]
So things stopped happening?
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
@Paolo_Bandini Aye.
[Comment from JamesHMartin via Twitter]
Loving this gem: "Cazorla is very real." #goodtoknow
James Tyler: What think, Bryce? Third?
Roger Bennett: City yet to impress this season. Concerns all round. Blunt up front. no consistent back line. And Silva. Where Art thou?
[Comment from Bryce]
I think Arsenal could definitely do better than 4th this year...
James Tyler: Spurs 2, QPR 1. Seems like AVB's lads are in charge. In 2nd minute of stoppage time.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
@arse2mouse Interception king.
[Comment from Wren]
Update at White Hart Lane?
James Tyler: Well, then. I'm not quite used to seeing Arsenal look this resolute. It's scary. I don't think it'll seriously impact the title race, but it's cause for concern.
[Comment from Justin COYG]
City took all points at home except one last season. Great point for the good guys.
[Comment from Raza_88]
Brilliant. Arsenal can feel very satisfied
[Comment from Skyler]
Well deserved point for each side TBH
James Tyler: Good game, overall. And, most importantly, incident-free. Two smart goals making a mockery of zonal marking. That's always fun. Arsenal with nearly 60% of the ball and 26 combined shots on goal for the two sides.
[Comment from Larry]
Feeling OK with draw, but Gervinho has to SIT! MOM for City!!
[Comment from Gervinho]
I feel good about the draw
James Tyler: A game passes WITHOUT CONTROVERSY. I'm flabbergasted.
[Comment from Jeff the GFOP]
Just once this year I'd like to see Podolski, Giroud and Oxlade-Chamberlain in front of Cazorla and Arteta
James Tyler: FULL TIME: Manchester City 1, Arsenal 1.
[Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
Things I love about the EPL #310 - the contrast between an English commentator who can pronounce French names with aplomb and a Scottish commentator who ends up resorting to "he" or "the player" instead of giving it a go. Note - this would be ever better if they allowed Scouse announcers.
James Tyler: A point well-earned, really Adam. Good character to get the late equalizer. I'm jealous.
[Comment from Adam]
Looks like arsenal are settling for the draw? Not too many forward on that free kick
Roger Bennett: massive point for Arsenal. And richly deserved. how are you feeling Arsenal fans?
James Tyler: Whoa. A rare foul throw call by Mike Dean. Arsenal throw-in on halfway. With seconds remaining, there's little rush.
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
Javi Garcia with the last-defender-makes-himself-a-human-backpack move
James Tyler: Free kick for Arsenal, 35 yards out on the right. Lofted in by Arteta but comfortably cleared by Lescott.
[Comment from Koscielny MOTM]
Rog, that is a Brain Tourniquet.
James Tyler: Jenkinson rugby-tackled by Javi Garcia as he's about to break free down the right. YELLOW CARD for the City midfielder, who's been good today.
James Tyler: I'd disagree on the first bit of your statement.
[Comment from mitch]
gervinho off about 90 minutes too late
James Tyler: Interesting, Colin.
[Comment from Colin]
Gervinho is my kind of player, supremely talented, but fatally flawed
[Comment from Adam]
Gervinho finally subbed. About 20 minutes too late.
Roger Bennett: My 6 year old son just asked me why Gervinho is wearing a headband. "Is it just to squeeze his head"
James Tyler: SUB FOR ARSENAL: Coquelin on, Gervinho euthanized.
James Tyler: Gervinho, the full English breakfast of soccer. So bad it's good.
[Comment from Gervinho]
Made you think I was going to score one, didn't I?
James Tyler: In space at the top of the box, room to shoot. He absolutely skies it over the bar.
Roger Bennett: Wow. Gervinho. Some kind of Art-performance.
James Tyler: DEAR OH DEAR GERVINHO
James Tyler: Three minutes to be added.
[Comment from willie]
Ramsey MOTM for me, his running has been great
James Tyler: Spurs still leads QPR 2-1. 4 mins to play there.
James Tyler: Gunners settling again in the City half.
[Comment from Mancinis Tailor]
Steve Bould sez Ramsay as we should all have a chuckle.
James Tyler: Two minutes left plus stoppage time.
James Tyler: Balotelli does well to control a long ball but Koscielny springs out to dispossess.
[Comment from Pog]
Zonal Marking obviously MOTM
[Comment from slim]
MOTM: Ya Ya? Cazorla?
James Tyler: Yeah, I forgot him. Like I said, so many possible candidates in a funny game.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Gervinho and Walcott are frustration bottled.
[Comment from Adam]
Mertesacker? Really solid game
James Tyler: Toure is tripped by the superb Gervinho. Can't fault the Ivorian for the entertainment he brings.
James Tyler: Seriously, I have no clue who to nominate as MOTM.
James Tyler: City goal kick as Giroud can't corral a long ball aimed his way down the left side of the box.
[Comment from Gervinho]
Alright lads, whose ready for a goal?
[Comment from Ben Krimmel]
So three centerbacks have had better finishes than Gervinho today. Will Per be the fourth?
James Tyler: SUB FOR CITY: Balotelli is indeed on. I missed who he replaced. Five minutes left.
Roger Bennett: Balo on. alongside his snuggle buddy, Tevez.
[Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
THAT'S FROM A CENTER BACK!!!
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
Things Happened.
James Tyler: First cross is cleared, it's pinged back in for Kompany, who has the gall to BICYCLE KICK it on target. Mannone's fine save rebounds to Aguero, who puts his shot wide of the post by mere inches.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Fair play, Vincent
James Tyler: Chance for City! An absurd sequence!
James Tyler: MAN THINE ZONES, GUNNERS
James Tyler: Indeed, Rog. Another City corner.
Roger Bennett: Uh oh, Corners are the new penalties.
[Comment from Bryan]
Bosscielny!
James Tyler: Cannot speak enough good of the shot. Was a real humdinger of a strike. Good contact, perfectly placed.
[Comment from Adam]
What. A. Strike. By. Koscielny.
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
Guys, with this much negative press I don't think ZONAL MARKING is going to win the 2012 Election.
James Tyler: Lescott nods the cross into Koscielny's path and the defender slices it into the top corner from 12 yards!
Roger Bennett: ZONAL BLOODY MARKING
James Tyler: LAURENT KOSCIELNY STRIKES ANOTHER DAGGER BLOW FOR ZONAL MARKING
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
GOAL! Koscielny reacts quickest in the box and smashes the ball home for the equaliser. 1-1.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
ZONAL MARKING GOAL
Roger Bennett: There he is. The thinnest face in football strikes for Arsenal
James Tyler: GOAL FOR ARSENAL!
James Tyler: Corner to Arsenal.
James Tyler: Chance for Arsenal! Cazorla forces a fine save from Joe Hart!
Roger Bennett: Strong hands there Joe Hart
James Tyler: Yes. Came far too far off his line and missed the ball, Chris D. Next!
Roger Bennett: Finger stinger for Joe Hart.
[Comment from chris d]
do you think he first man city goal was GK fault??
James Tyler: Nevermind; Mertesacker tidies up on the edge of the box. Job done.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Amen RT @tomEurosport: All day to take that cross and he puts it out for a throw. £100k a week?
James Tyler: Silva's corner is comfortably cleared, only Gervinho gives the ball back to City in the Arsenal half.
James Tyler: Still, corner for City. ZONAL MARKING ALERT.
James Tyler: Chance for City! Massive counter-attack following Silva's tackle. Yaya Toure sprints upfield and passes to Aguero, wide right. The Argentine frontman shoots wide.
Roger Bennett: Yaya. Poor there. You could hear his brain computing before executing too late
James Tyler: Promising stuff for Arsenal until Jenkinson is smartly tackled by David Silva on the edge of the box.
[Comment from Skyler]
Gervinho has been getting into promising areas while Podolski, although playing well, provided less attacking threat this match
[Comment from GFOP]
Gervinho the street baller of the premier league
James Tyler: Walcott's cross is too high for Gervinho to reach. Shame.
Roger Bennett: Fabulous play by Koscielny there.
James Tyler: Gervinho on the ball. Left wing. Works it back inside to Walcott. Gets it back. Passes infield for Cazorla but Javi Garcia, who's had a fine game, intercepts.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Cross it?
James Tyler: Presuming that Gervinho's pace in wide areas gives him more value in the final 15 mins?
[Comment from Raza_88]
Can anyone explain why Podolski was taken off instead of Gervinho?
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
The basketball version of Gervinho is the little point guard that does 6 trick-dribbling moves in a wrong and then promptly throws a pass that goes directly out of bounds.
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
What's Eating David Silva?
James Tyler: 15 mins to play at White Hart Lane: Spurs still leading QPR 2-1.
James Tyler: 15 minutes left at the Etihad. Arsenal still fumbling for an equalizer.
James Tyler: Anything that gets Wilshere closer to playing again is a good thing. Unless he suffers a setback.
[Comment from ACK]
As a new Arsenal fan, how excited about Wilshire should I be? Assuming he has recovered enough from his injuries. The most action I've ever seen him get is in the Pepsi commercial.
[Comment from Tom]
Man City somehow just defended that corner with...wait for it....ZONAL DEFENDING
James Tyler: Agree, Adam. Far from last season's teenaged punchline.
[Comment from Adam]
I have to say, Jenkinson has looked pretty good
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
It's almost like Arsenal don't have an edge to their attack unless they're playing against an extremely soft backline. Weird. (or not)
James Tyler: Ping-pong stuff around the City box. Mertesacker and Giroud combine but the German's offside. Hart pounced on Mertesacker's flick anyway.
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
Musa Okwonga @Okwonga on #MUFC's 2-1 victory over Liverpool on an emotional day. tinyurl.com/9d3cfzv
Roger Bennett: They never mention Zonal Marking when it works do they?
James Tyler: Set piece doesn't clear the first defender.
James Tyler: Arsenal corner thanks to Giroud's hard work.
James Tyler: (counts Harry)
[Comment from Harry]
Giroud to tie. Gervinho to win. Count it.
Roger Bennett: 17 big minutes for Giroud...
[Comment from Alex]
its still 12 vs 10 .. city + gervino vs arsenal....
James Tyler: Be honest, Jared: do Arsenal fans really care if he stays?
[Comment from Jared (GFOP)]
So Walcott is gone in January, right? Hasn't signed a contract, Wenger is vague in his comments, and he isn't starting.
James Tyler: Toure tries to find Tevez in the box. Goal kick, Arsenal.
[Comment from Jared (GFOP)]
That's right, Gervinho, still on.
James Tyler: SUBS FOR ARSENAL: Diaby and Podolski off, Walcott and Giroud on.
James Tyler: City's latest counter-attack ends as Gael Clichy's cross soars over the bar.
James Tyler: Double sub for the Gunners coming up...
James Tyler: Amazing, really.
James Tyler: Arsenal's passing rhythms are at a low ebb. Gervinho appears to have injured Aaron Ramsey as the pair went for a loose ball.
James Tyler: (marks Billy Nerney's words)
[Comment from Billy Nerney]
Giroud to come on and tie this one up. Mark my words
James Tyler: 2016. Seriously, he's practiced once in 14 months. Knee and ankle surgeries.
[Comment from kevin]
any idea when welshire is back
Roger Bennett: Scott Norwood.
[Comment from Stu]
prob american voters thinking arsenal should just kick the field goal for the win
James Tyler: 22 minutes left. Arsenal yet to make a change. Surely a bad move.
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
Maybe the Ivory Coast side trains with a bowling ball instead of a football?
Roger Bennett: Toure went with the sandwedge when he needed the three iron
James Tyler: Still some 50% of voters think Arsenal's winning this one....
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@simon_mulvany haha
James Tyler: SUB FOR MAN CITY: Edin Dzeko off, Carlos Tevez on.
James Tyler: It's to be expected, Colin. Lack of pace means he must use what little pace he has wisely. Hence he does make good reads of the action around him.
[Comment from Colin]
People always rip Mertesacker for being slow, but the dude reads the game really well
[Comment from john]
Gervinho has brought Gervinho's usual shot today
James Tyler: Gervinho blazes a shot wide from inside the box. Cazorla set him up, and probably regretted his choice immediately.
[Comment from Adam]
Rog, not necessarily, you just have to pass it to him when he's close enough to the goal that his first touch will unintentionally end up in the back of the net.
James Tyler: Gervinho does brilliantly to keep it in play on the left endline, but Kompany intercepts his low cross.
Roger Bennett: Silva. Silva. Silva. What has happened to your decision making this season?
James Tyler: Meanwhile at the Etihad, Arsenal's struggling to create a meaningful chance on goal.
James Tyler: You'll get a chance, Jay Jay. Probably around February.
[Comment from ESPNUK via Twitter]
Tottenham 1-1 QPR! An own goal from Alejandro Faurlin!
[Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
See what happens when you put Bale in an advanced position? I should manage Tottenham, christ.
James Tyler: Madness at White Hart Lane: two minutes after Alejandro Faurlin's own goal, Defoe has put Tottenham 2-1 up.
Roger Bennett: Is a pass, no matter how wonderful, to Gervinho, a bad ball?
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
2-1, Defoe. AVB's reaction to that very interesting. Oh he loved it.
James Tyler: Things are happening, Tom. At White Hart Lane, mind.
[Comment from Tom]
For us Americans, does that mean that things are really happening, or that they are in fact not happening?
James Tyler: City settling into some rather gentle passing.
James Tyler: As I type that, Silva fires in a left-side cross that almost reaches Dzeko.
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@MUFC_Champ19n already happening. Think he deserves time personally
James Tyler: 62 mins gone and the game is entering its not-much-happening phase.
James Tyler: And Spurs has equalized! It's all happening now, as they say when things are happening.
[Comment from Michael GFOP]
How long before Cazorla replaces Silva in the city starting XI?
James Tyler: Silva scythed down on the flank by Carl Jenkinson.
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
That was a well-timed tweet. 1-1. Own goal.
[Comment from Joe]
Is that a plea FOR Giroud? We're at that point in the match, huh?
James Tyler: Bob, did you bet in Vegas on that? I bet the payout is astronomical.
[Comment from Bob]
Today confirms my league predictions: Everton #1, QPR #2, and Arsenal last.
Roger Bennett: HODGMAN
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Introduce Giroud. Seriously.
James Tyler: It's very bad, Bobby V.
Roger Bennett: For Americans, it is the opposite of "Rad"
James Tyler: Still Spurs 0, QPR 1.
[Comment from Bobby Valentine]
for the benefit of us yanks, "making a meal of" is good? bad?
James Tyler: Lovely turn of phrase, that, from ESPNFC contributor Miguel Delaney.
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
Spurs are, what you might call, a shapeless mess.
Roger Bennett: I miss Ian Darke.
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
If Arsenal replace Gervinho with RVP, they can score on 1-on-nobody breakaways
James Tyler: Gunners' pressure time. Gibbs, Diaby and Cazorla linking up on the left flank. Super Santi makes a meal of his cross.
Roger Bennett: If City replace Dzeko with Tevez, they can score for fun on the counter...
James Tyler: QPR still leads Tottenham 1-0. Andre Villas-Boas must be a picture of fun on the touchline.
Roger Bennett: Love is. Tevez and Balo cudding pic.twitter.com/TSBDxhz5
James Tyler: Podolski chops down Zabaleta in midfield as the pair go for a 50/50 ball. That'll slow things down.
James Tyler: End to end humdinger at the moment, the action all too blurry and free-flowing to pin down in words.
James Tyler: He did a bit, didn't he?
[Comment from Ian (LFC)]
Mannone looks SO surprised to have the ball go right into his hands there.
James Tyler: Chance for City! Javi Garcia's free-header from a set piece is right at Mannone. Amazingly, he saves it.
James Tyler: You'll find no bias with me, Rog. None. I am more impartial than Craig Burley in discussions of set-piece defensive tactics.
Roger Bennett: JT. Objective. And focussed on the present. I respect that
James Tyler: City can have no complaints. Unlike Liverpool about 3 hours ago.
James Tyler: Chance for City! Javi Garcia wins it back in midfield, it's shuttled to Aguero on the edge of the box where Koscielny hauls him down. No penalty as Aguero did get back up and screw a shot wide.
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
@DanHolden24 haha, yes!
James Tyler: they work so well together, Rog.
Roger Bennett: Dzeko is yet to pass the ball to Aguero in 50 minutes of football
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
Craig Burley being asked to describe zonal marking, the thing he DESPISES, is entertaining.
James Tyler: Corner for City. ZONAL MARKING. It's cleared. Zabaleta's follow-up shot is blocked by Diaby.
James Tyler: @Rog -- they certainly appear enthralled by Rodgers. Henry mused on Brendan's THREE HOUR presentation of his style, philosophy and plans for LFC during the summer trip to Boston.
Roger Bennett: Steve Bould's pulse rises steadily...
Roger Bennett: FSG are smart gents. They will work it out and learn from their mistakes.
James Tyler: Chance for City! Aguero flashes a narrow-angled shot well wide after City's free-kick makes it to him unmarked at the back post.
Roger Bennett: I think it has more to do with lack of ownership bandwidth rather than finance.
James Tyler: It's possible. But we thought the same about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and United when the Glazers strolled in. That said, does anyone care about the Buccaneers?
[Comment from zaphod]
JT your eyes shine like the moon on a star filled night. /flattery... Pundits: Think there is any coorelation between the red sox miserable fall this season and the lack of over-spending from FSG for LFC?
[Comment from zaphod]
Pundits: Think there is any coorelation between the red sox miserable fall this season and the lack of over-spending from FSG for LFC?
James Tyler: City counter-attack but Yaya Toure's crossfield pass is intercepted by Cazorla, I think. Gunners settle back down in the City half.
James Tyler: Arsenal corner is well-defended. Salvation for zonal marking, perhaps.
James Tyler: Thank you Skyler! Note to all: flattery will ensure your comments get published.
Roger Bennett: What is worse? Gervinho's decision making on the ball or in the barber's chair?
[Comment from Skyler]
JT, you are by far one of my favorite on here, cheers (tip of the emerald rye schell's)
James Tyler: @Zaphod: check the FC United blog
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/blog/_/name/espnfcunited?cc=5901
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
FULL-TIME: Newcastle 1-0 Norwich. Demba Ba the match-winner
James Tyler: Early chance for City! Yaya Toure drags a shot wide from 20 yards out.
James Tyler: SUB FOR MAN CITY: Jack Rodwell on, Scott "Why Did We Buy Him?" Sinclair off
James Tyler: We're off again!
[Comment from zaphod]
@JT, where are those gripping tales? Link-age? On soccernet?
James Tyler: Right, back to the actual game that's happening. Arsene Wenger emerges from the Etihad tunnel and re-zips his massive puffy jacket.
Roger Bennett: Red Sox and Liverpool could do a swap. Being Liverpool Meet Wife Swap.
[Comment from Ben Krimmel]
No way Rogers is fired before Red Sox Valentine. Also Valentine may have been the worst character on Being: Liverpool. Second place tie between Cody Ross-Charlie Adam cricket conversation.
James Tyler: BRILLIANT.
[Comment from Bobby Valentine]
Keep your chin up, Brendan!
James Tyler: @Zaphod: you can read my Monday morning recaps of each "gripping" episode.
Roger Bennett: Rent Waiting for Guffman and the first season of the English Office.
[Comment from zaphod]
Is there a way to watch "being liverpool" without having the cable networks on my tv?
James Tyler: Hastily firing managers for short-term shortcomings is a lose-lose. Means starting all over again. They've invested in Rodgers and will trust him to turn it around. I suspect that they're seeing the positivity in Liverpool's play despite the poor results.
Roger Bennett: More time to dedicate to interior decorating. he wins or he wins
James Tyler: Doubt it. John Henry will give him more rope than that.
[Comment from XI]
JT Rodgers will be out by Christmas at this rate ...
James Tyler: Ah, young love.
[Comment from Pog]
I feel bad for Rodgers. Worried about his daughter and the Hollister model, too.
Roger Bennett: Follow us on Twitter:
@rogbennett (me)
@jamestylerespn (him)
James Tyler: No comment from me. I wasn't there so I can't speculate.
[Comment from Bryce]
@JT: Any comments on ManU fans doing the "always the victims" chants today? If the reports are true, what lack of class.
James Tyler: 20th place. Absconds to Colombia with all the money in the Anfield bank vault.
[Comment from Alejandro]
JT......what does it take for Rodgers to lose his job this season?
James Tyler: Happy to see these long-touted youth talents getting opportunities. Good for the squad.
James Tyler: Lovely to see him deployed. Has a vision and sense of calm that our midfield needs in the attacking third.
[Comment from Sean]
thoughts on Suso today JT?
James Tyler: FT: Newcastle 1, Norwich 0.
[Comment from Jeff the GFOP]
I'm not saying it'll happen, but if LFC were relegated -- biggest EPL story since...?
James Tyler: Incorrect. He's there on a long-term deal and I think by now FSG realizes that changing managers every 10 minutes is a fool's game.
Roger Bennett: Everton Supporters... Shhhhh. To say it is to curse it...
[Comment from kevin]
no way rodgers keeps his job if they lose to norwich next week right?
[Comment from Everton Supporters]
Rog, We are going to win the league
James Tyler: City Chelsea United Arsenal
[Comment from BrandonCOYS]
Top four this season..?
James Tyler: A bagel covered in random stuff. Caraway seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, salt, onion.
Roger Bennett: "Young players dont be lazeh, eh?"
[Comment from Sean]
What is a toasted everything bagel?!?!
[Comment from Jared]
Hopefully Arsene will put on OG for Gervinho.
Roger Bennett: Gas Gas quick boys an ecstacy of fumbling
[Comment from Ben Krimmel]
What WWI poem should we all read at half time, Rog? Dulce et Decorum est?
Roger Bennett: Dark horse top four? Sure. To win it. Only in my dreams.
[Comment from Fellainis Fro]
Everton....worth the odds at the Bookie's for dark horse? With the always underrated Leighton Baines? And I loves me some Jagielka...
Roger Bennett: What is Arsene Wenger saying to his team? They are surely very much in this game. Expecting Podolski to start shooting on sight in this second half.
James Tyler: Turkey sandwich. Next!
[Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
Brunch Options: Toasted Everything Bagel with Creamcheese, Smoked Salmon, Capers, Onions, and Sliced tomato vs. Roast Turkey Sandwich with Cabot Cheddar, Mango Chutney, Sliced Tomato, and Bacon?
James Tyler: Rog, one more outburst and I'll red card you. I'll give you the Halsey Treatment.
James Tyler: Your thoughts, Rog? I'm "answering" questions at a breathtaking pace, I realize.
Roger Bennett: Joe. Being: Liverpool.
Roger Bennett: That is the diff for teams like Swansea and Everton. An injury or two -- or a suspension -- can stun momentum. Great teams. Poor squads...
James Tyler: Southampton. Next!
[Comment from Joe]
Relegation: Norwich, Reading, and.....???
James Tyler: Injuries, Jeff. Only Alan Tate was available to play a natural CB yesterday. Alan Tate. He was dismal.
[Comment from Jeff the GFOP]
What's the biggest change in the last two weeks for Welsh Barcelona vs. the fire with which they came out to begin the year?
James Tyler: Chelsea. Next!
[Comment from Jason]
Chelsea vs Arsenal. Who ya got?
James Tyler: Still early. Next!
[Comment from kevin]
west brom- still early or are they this good?
James Tyler: Par for the course, Rog?
James Tyler: I believe Lamps will eventually turn up on American shores. Read something intriguing this morning on Twitter that he shares an agent with a Galaxy player.
Roger Bennett: Spurs booed off at half time...
[Comment from Uncouth]
Will Frank Lampard carry's Posh's chihuahua in LA? Discuss.
James Tyler: Apology accepted, Pog.
[Comment from Pog]
Sorry if this has been covered, I was off changing diapers. The man himself, Bobby Zamora, has out QPR up 1-0 at Spurs.
James Tyler: IN OTHER NEWS: Newcastle is almost home free. 1-0 up at home to Norwich in the 89th minute. QPR leads Spurs 1-0 at half-time.
Roger Bennett: Arteta, Cazorla finding a huge amount of time on the ball. Yet Cazorla solely responsible for Arsenal's only two shots on target.
[Comment from john]
Spurs 0 QPR 1 -- uh oh
James Tyler: Value for money, Rog.
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
@UFJacob We agree. But try telling Craig Burley!

I wish I had a Twitter handle/domain name that I could get disgruntled commentators to repeat ad nauseam.

I wish I had a Twitter handle/domain name that I could get disgruntled commentators repeat ad nauseam.
Roger Bennett: City 1-0 up without midfield getting into game. Silva, Sinclair among the least touches in that first half. Yaya one man show.
James Tyler: HALF TIME: Manchester City 1, Arsenal 0. In a half of engaging counter-attacks and measured passing, the solitary goal comes from something so uncouth. A header from a set piece.
James Tyler: Yep, Mike Dean has seen enough.
James Tyler: 10 seconds of the first half remaining.
[Comment from Mike]
Arsenal - Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass...and City recovers the ball. Repeat.
James Tyler: Because we're in a world of instantaneous blame culture, I'll point the finger at Mannone for coming out to punch the corner and missing by an embarrassing margin.
[Comment from Zonal Marking (GFOP)]
Hey, blame that Frenchman that got outjumped!
[Comment from john]
Funny, Burley goes on and on about the virtues of "shirt pulling"...uh...
James Tyler: Gervinho does well to get past Clichy in the corner. He finds Diaby in the box but he neglects to shoot. Ball is worked out of the box and around again. Yaya Toure eventually stops the mayhem.
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
Steffen Freund likes a good shout.
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
ZONAL SNARKING from Craig "Fundamentals" Burley.
James Tyler: Arsenal with some pressure. Cazorla's blocked pass for Gibbs comes back to him, but his curled shot is wide.
James Tyler: Defense was backpedaling and no-one could cover Dzeko. City had more numbers on the edge of the box.
[Comment from Skyler]
Defensive dissaray? That was a laser beam from a loose ball?
[Comment from JamesHMartin via Twitter]
I wish Craig Burley would speak his mind. He's just too reserved in his opinions. #poorarsenal cover your ears
James Tyler: Definitely a front-runner for the Nasal Champions League, Charlie.
[Comment from Charlie]
Mannone has the best nose in the Premier League.
[Comment from Jason]
This is what champions do? Don't be such a homer. A fluke goal.
James Tyler: Chance for City! In defensive disarray, Dzeko forces a fine save from Mannone. City corner.
James Tyler: Will that enliven the Gunners or cause them to crumble?
Roger Bennett: LAMPOST!
James Tyler: WHAT WOULD BOULD DO? Headbutt Lescott, probably. But it would have prevented the goal, surely.
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
Brendan Rodgers critical of referee after Liverpool's loss to Man Utd, while Jonjo Shelvey apologises for his red card. es.pn/Sec4Gi

I don't like that
Roger Bennett: harsh on salmons that JT
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
Commentator in "hates zonal marking on set pieces" shocker.
James Tyler: Lescott rises like a salmon to nod home the corner. Mannone miles off his line and fails to punch it clear.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Very disappointing.
Roger Bennett: Steve Bould will not like that...
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
GOAL! Lescott heads home from a corner and it's 1-0 to City. Zonal marking failed there.
James Tyler: An absolute nothing goal. From nowhere.
Roger Bennett: That is what champions do...
James Tyler: GOAL FOR CITY
[Comment from Joe]
I always thought AVB was more the slam poetry type
James Tyler: Arteta fouled. I should have that on my CTRL+V.
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
@kknapp1 I mean more that if one makes a mistake, everyone demands the other.
[Comment from XI]
This is ridiculous. We don't need Gervinho to mess up perfectly good chances - we can put in Giroud for that ...
[Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
@Alejandro - showed him the powerpoint? He had Deuce lay down the background track for key intro slides!
Roger Bennett: Am sure AVB, being such a man motivator, knew to speak to Clint only in hip hop rhymes
Roger Bennett: Dempsey not quite the powerpoint type. Full on Bass Master
[Comment from Alejandro]
Rog, do you think AVB showed Dempsey his powerpoint presentation. Tottenham has a fever...and the only cure is more powerpoint. #powerpointequalsteamunity
James Tyler: Arsenal with another barnstorming team attack that's ended by Gervinho. Again.
Roger Bennett: City look best when the ball is at Gervinho's feet
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
I imagine that Tottenham fans regard the Friedel-Lloris "debate" in the same regard as Jets fans handle Sanchez vs. Tebow.
[Comment from AVB]
If I get sacked, Spurs win the Europa League. Book it.
James Tyler: You're thinking of Juventus, Joe. Who are still thriving, amazingly.
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
RT @MiguelDelaney: 1-0 QPR. Probably coming. Zamora.
[Comment from Joe]
Yes James, but you've forgotten, they brought in the best striker in the world. Nikolas Bendtner

Roger Bennett: Gervinho-esque is mine.
[Comment from Alex]
"Liverpoolesque" is my new favorite word

[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
1-0 QPR. Probably coming. Zamora.
[Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
This is the sharpest Ramsey's looked in some time. Cheering sight. That memory of his leg dangling is forever etched in my memory.
Roger Bennett: Second Toure shot aimed right at Arteta's head. This time it's personal
James Tyler: Yes, but while LFC dumped Andy Carroll, Milan rid themselves of Ibra and Thiago Silva.
[Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
Speaking of Liverpool '05 - how about Milan losing to Udinese today? Looking kind of Liverpoolesque this season.
James Tyler: It's Cazorla with the right-footed curler. Hart sees it the whole way and smothers it.
James Tyler: Arsenal free-kick some 30 yards from goal and dead center. Three Gunners hover over it. Podolski, Arteta and Cazorla.
Roger Bennett: Hodgman and Dall? Tuesday night gin rummy game they have
[Comment from Joe]
Have you ever seen them in a room together, Rog?
James Tyler: HALSEY AGREES.
[Comment from mitch]
mike dean needs to start giving out yellows to city they are bruising arsenal with lazy challenges
Roger Bennett: Tough to have so much pressure right now. I would be elated if I was a Liverpool fan. Adore this spirit and his threat. But too much expectation on a young man's shoulders right now
James Tyler: I'm in love? Already ordered a Sterling wallbanger?
[Comment from JamesHMartin via Twitter]
Carl Jenkinson playing fine, but cannot take him seriously ... every time I hear his name, all I think is "Old Man Jenkinson" from Spongebob
[Comment from popo]
JT, RB, what do you think of Raheem Sterling so far?
James Tyler: Ramsey fouled by Kompany in midfield. Bit sloppy.
James Tyler: Meanwhile, I'm sporting a pizza-stained Liverpool '05 shirt.
James Tyler: Only the most dapper make it on the London ESPN desk, Rog.
Roger Bennett: James Dall looks like John Hodgman
James Tyler: Gunners corner amounts to nothing.
James Tyler: Rog, if only I could see your face as you're typing that.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Cazorla makes me so happy.
James Tyler: Right. Arsenal corner.
Roger Bennett: None.
Roger Bennett: JT please note: I take no pleasure in Liverpool's demise.
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
Already half an hour gone at the Etihad? Amazing how time flies when referees don't do things that make you angry.
James Tyler: No score at White Hart Lane. Newcastle still 1-0 up on Norwich with 20 mins to play.
James Tyler: Me neither, Rog. Me neither. KEEP LAUGHING AT LIVERPOOL, YOU NOT-VERY-NICE-PEOPLE.
James Tyler: Arsenal counter-attack ends with a Gunners throw-in.
Roger Bennett: I never tire of that kind of fake post gag.

James Tyler: #Analysis
[Comment from Mr. Obvious]
One goal is gonna break this game wide open
James Tyler: It's no contest, Skyler, for me. I won't say in which direction.
[Comment from Skyler]
JT, next poll should be who makes you drink more significant others or football teams?
James Tyler: Chance for Arsenal! Cazorla with a lovely ball through for Gervinho, in behind Clichy, only the Ivorian fluffs on taking the shot. Clichy's ankle-tap put him off. No PK. Ball cleared.
James Tyler: Because he's a French defender?
[Comment from Kevin]
Why is koscielny so underrated?
James Tyler: Someone should take Jonjo's iPhone away for a bit.
[Comment from MiguelDelaney via Twitter]
QPR fans belt out 'Sit down, it's a library' at what is a very muted White Hart Lane. Spurs fans finally sing back.
James Tyler: Yeah, YC could have easily been given. I bet Mark Halsey would have sent him off. #RefereeJoke
Roger Bennett: @shelveyJ: I have also apologised to sir Alex , just where I come from people don't grass people up to get someone sent off
[Comment from Skyler]
Quite cynical, no yellow?
James Tyler: Arteta and Gibbs combine, ball's lofted into the box for Ramsey but the Welshman's soft header is cradled by Hart.
James Tyler: That's a quality reference, Pog.
[Comment from Pog]
Podolski takes a shot worthy of Bobby Zamora.
James Tyler: City corner is intended for Lescott but Gervinho clears it. Santi Cazorla is then barged down by Zabaleta to prevent a Gunners counter-attack.
Roger Bennett: Gibbs heat map will be final-third heavy
[Comment from Justin]
With Silva tucking so far inside all the time, it really is letting Gibbs run free on the wing.
James Tyler: Perhaps, Mark, but Wenger needs to tell Olivier that this is still Ligue 1 and he's playing Le Havre. That seems to be the key to inspiring Giroud.
[Comment from Adam]
Things you never want to see. Per with the ball at his feet
[Comment from mark]
Mr. Tyler any chance you think of Giroud getting on and sneaking a goal?
James Tyler: Magic Spray.
[Comment from Raza_88]
What did Jenkinson have for breakfast?
James Tyler: Chance for Arsenal! Superb run by Jenkinson down the right flank ends with a cutback for Lukas Podolski, only the German batters it first-time into the crowd. That'll show 'em.
Roger Bennett: Podolski's shot was "Gervinho-esque"
James Tyler: Dzeko's cross grazes Koscielny's arm. Crowd begs for handball. Ref Mike Dean says no.
James Tyler: Now, then. 23 mins in at the Etihad. Mertesacker punts into touch to prevent Dzeko from bearing down on goal.
James Tyler: Just to make things *really* interesting.
James Tyler: None yet, Shyam. Given the depressing season narrative, I'm expecting a slew of torn ACLs.
[Comment from Shyam]
Any reports on the injured Reds? Kelly/Borini/Agger/whomever else?
Roger Bennett: He will come good this season. Admire him greatly. Kind of player who always believes he is going to score
James Tyler: Rog, I'm giving Jonjo an anti-red card.
James Tyler: Silva's tired. Or bored. Or both. A long summer, coupled with the pressure of supplying City's every goalscoring opportunity, is wearing on his lithe frame.
Roger Bennett: @shelveyJ
I apologise to the fans for getting sent off but no way was I pulling out of that tackle in a game of that importance. Im sorry.
James Tyler: We've been tracking this for a while, dendrobiem.
[Comment from Dendrobiem]
Silva is a shadow of last years' player
James Tyler: Now, then. Arsenal back on the attack. Yaya Toure ever-present in shutting it down. He goes on a rampage but is felled by Abou Diaby just inside the City half.
James Tyler: However, Martin Skrtel has no such excuse.
James Tyler: Indeed. Alopecia.
[Comment from TwistyMaze LittlePassage]
@Roger - isn't it because he has some disease?
James Tyler: Good challenge on David Silva to prevent the Spaniard getting free inside the Arsenal area. Mertesacker looks sharp thus far. Which is perhaps the most shocking thing about this season to date.
Roger Bennett: Shelvey. Most radical haircut in football. Very few clean shaved elite players. Bold move.
James Tyler: Show of hands: how many have preordered the new football game?
[Comment from NYCToon]
QPR's FIFA 13 team is going to be so much better than their real team!!
James Tyler: Ben, I'd argue that Raheem Sterling's emerging fauxhawk would disagree. That and we have a fine assortment of fiery baldies at Anfield.
[Comment from Ben Krimmel]
Is Liverpool's problem because they don't have a signature player with crazy hair who can be identified from miles away? Arsenal: Gervinho. Chelsea: David Luiz. Man City: Mario. United: Wayne Rooney's plugs. Is that the key to Premier League success?
Roger Bennett: Alex. more comments like that and you could find yourself coaching Liverpool
[Comment from Alex]
I've coached U12 players that wouldn't have made that touch
[Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
Gervinho just revealed why the Ivory Coast is called the Elephants
James Tyler: Promising for Arsenal again... Gibbs free down the left but his cross for Gervinho is overhit.
[Comment from XI]
Fortunately for Wenger, FIFA rules prevent Cazorla from moving to City until NEXT summer
Roger Bennett: Yes. Autocorrect.
James Tyler: It was indeed. Tyler correct, Bennett horribly wrong. For shame, Rog.
[Comment from Justin]
Through was from Ramsey, wasn't it?
[Comment from JamesTylerESPN via Twitter]
Nice backpass by Gervinho. Good defending.
Roger Bennett: What a ball from Cazorla though. Love watching him play. He operates with such joy.
James Tyler: Chance for Arsenal! Gervinho played clean through by Ramsey but his first touch looks like a well-weighted backpass to Joe Hart, one that the City keeper takes calmly.
[Comment from JamesDallESPN via Twitter]
Worst. Touch. Ever.
Roger Bennett: Gervino. World class terrible touch
James Tyler: City turning up the heat a bit following the set piece but Carl "Yes, I Still Start For Arsenal" Jenkinson is on hand to hoof it downfield.
James Tyler: Still, point taken.
James Tyler: I prefer to make limoncello, Matt. Because it's intoxicating.
[Comment from Matt]
Remember James Tyler, when life gives you lemons - anoint them the next savior of Anfield.
Roger Bennett: Travelocity paid for the sponsorship Guerilla marketing.
[Comment from Henri]
still baffles my mind why Expedia want to be affiliated with EPL refs -- probably the most hated people in football.
James Tyler: Chance for City! Aguero's first run down the left. He cuts infield and uncorks a shot from the edge of the box. Plenty of power. Good save by Mannone to his left.
Roger Bennett: Deranged.
James Tyler: Dapper, but disgruntled.
[Comment from Roberto Mancini]
How do I look?
James Tyler: More Arsenal pressure. Arteta spins off Yaya Toure and chips it wide for Gibbs. Only the left-back, onside behind the City defense, crosses it first-time instead of shooting. City clear it.
Roger Bennett: Odd decision by Gibbs there. Great run.
James Tyler: 8%

chances of LFC getting into Europe
Roger Bennett: City playing as if they have not recovered from Fox Soccer's early technical problems
James Tyler: As I type that, Kompany steps in and breaks up the Arsenal rondo. Commits a foul.
James Tyler: 11 mins in at the Etihad and Arsenal is shading the early play. City not getting much pressure on the Gunners in possession.
James Tyler: Villa. Next!

Who last longer with their new team? Paul Lambert or Rodgers?
James Tyler: Yaya Toure's first contribution is a shot from distance, one that Mikel Arteta blocks.
Roger Bennett: Things I would not like to be on the end of: A Yaya Toure strike of thunder.
[Comment from RobGFOP]
This week's episode is Candyland at the Suarez home.
James Tyler: Santi Cazorla has a pop from 25-ish yards. Low shot that Hart dives on.
James Tyler: City sitting very deep and seemingly content to let Arsenal knock it about deep in attacking territory.
James Tyler: Newcastle's still leading Norwich 1-0 in the second half. Spurs and QPR still scoreless after 6 mins.

The prompt asks me to be an alien race and set up a new world. Which also fits in nicely for explaining American premier league fans.
James Tyler: Still, the Gunners are shading the early possession.
James Tyler: Lovely move by the Gunners down the left finds Gibbs in space, but his near-post low cross is picked off by Kompany.
[Comment from Jay Jay Okocha]
That's the best post I've ever seen in this live chat.
James Tyler: Ben, I assume you're getting an A for this paper?
[Comment from Ben Krimmel]
I have an paper to write by midnight on international security politics and offensive realism. The theory holds states act with security as main worry and will always attempt to maximize power. And is a theory of great power war. I think it fits perfectly with English soccer. The top powers dominate, minor powers only attempt to get into wars of attrition (draw). CIty-Arsenal appears to be a great power war and both want to shift the Premier League Balance of Power in their favor. Today will be a long and tense battle for supremacy. Likely ending in a win for City. They have far too much offensive capability.
James Tyler: Ramsey's cross intended for Gervinho is plucked out the sky by big Joe Hart.
James Tyler: Start Robin van Persie.
[Comment from Matt W]
Who should I start today for Fantasy Football, Mike Vick or Big Ben!? Quarterback style?
James Tyler: I'm assuming City fans are still in bed? A whopping 57% of voters think Arsenal will sneak a win.
Roger Bennett: Which Arsenal player will step up and claim the big money move to City> Diaby must be motivated today.
James Tyler: Aguero lays it off at the edge of the box to no-one in particular. Arsenal tries to break down the right wing via Gervinho but the pass for him is overhit. City defense tidies up.
[Comment from ESPNFC via Twitter]
United's win over Liverpool illustrated that reputation matters when awarding a penalty, says @JamesHMartin tinyurl.com/94wu67d
Roger Bennett: Zero. Zero. Kenny Dalglish will come back. All will be fine
James Tyler: 0%. Next!
[Comment from Matt]
What are the chances Pool go down at season's end?
James Tyler: Three minutes in and both teams still locating their respective tempos.
James Tyler: Yeah, Arsenal lineup is a touch bizarre, but I think such fears will prove unfounded.
James Tyler: Lineups again for those late-comers:
Manchester City: Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy; Silva, Garcia, Yaya Toure, Sinclair; Dzeko, Aguero.
Subs: Pantilimon, Kolarov, Nastasic, Barry, Rodwell, Tevez, Balotelli
Arsenal: Mannone; Jenkinson, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Diaby, Arteta, Ramsey; Cazorla, Gervinho, Podolski.
Subs: Martinez, Djourou, Santos, Coquelin, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud.
James Tyler: Right, game on!
James Tyler: I can't even, guest. We'll have plenty of time for rending of flesh and gnashing of teeth after this game. I promised myself I would focus fully on the task at hand. So far, Super Sunday has me Super Exhausted.
Roger Bennett: Trying to think of a prediction. This game is in CNN lingo too close to call... An Arsenal win will be massive. They have beaten poor teams. This would be a huge statement. City poor thus far. 1-1.

Arsenal 4-2 minor City
[Comment from Tom]
2-2 draw is what I'm hoping for...ENTERTAIN ME!
Roger Bennett: I am not bullish on Anichebe. He has made the most of his opportunity this season but he is not a reliable premier league striker. Dzeko an enigma. Jonathan Wilson had a great line about him: he cant tell if he is a great striker with terrible moments or a terrible striker with great moments. Big game for him. Massive vote of confidence. Will he deliver?
[Comment from Nick Christie (GFOP)]
Rog: Has House Forward (Anichebe) made a move to surpass Lampost (Dzeko) as best oddly effective, physical striker? Or does Lampost respond today to the challenge of House Forward?
Roger Bennett: Barry and Robyn? The Gibbs. One of the most underrated trios of all time.
[Comment from Bryce]

Ooh, international Andy Carroll, Dzeko starting.
[Comment from Jeff]
Fox Soccer has had two shots at spelling Koscielny correctly. Neither has been on goal.
James Tyler: I'll go with 3-2 City. Why not.
James Tyler: I am not even going to attempt to predict the score. As good as Arsenal is looking lately, it's still Arsenal!
Roger Bennett: How do you feel about City's tactical decision to wear track suit tops to walk out in? They will be wearing tear off pants next.
[Comment from kempy]
Is Man city 3-0 Arsenal a reasonable guess for this one?
[Comment from Pog]
I think Arsenal could win this game if they can score two goals.
James Tyler: Yeah, he drifts in and out of games but I think he's as clinical a finisher as City has.
James Tyler: I like Dzeko in this situation.
Roger Bennett: JT. How do you feel about the options at striker. no Vermaelen. Will Dzeko's erratic physicality be an asset?
Roger Bennett: There is a lot of backroom intrigue at City. And the teams he fields seem to be directed at showing what gaps he needs filled going forward. Having said that... some of City's incoming transfers last window were headscratchers. esp Maicon and Rodwell. Sinclair must prove today he is a tick in the asset column.
[Comment from Brian Rowland]
Arsenal's starting XI is scary bad in defense. Not sure how I feel about the streaky Gervinho up top.
Roger Bennett: JT. I have felt at times that Mancini is both trying to defend the EPL title and jostle for political control of the club vs Brian Marwood ahead of January transfer window.
[Comment from Marcus]
No one seems to be giving arsenal a chance here...we have been playing some inspiring football, and inspiring defense as well. We can control a game as well as anyone
James Tyler: Thank you, Justin. I hereby remove you from the doghouse.
[Comment from Justin COYG]
To be fair, Liverpool should've earned a point. Halsey should not have awarded Valencia that pen.
James Tyler: We'll try our best, Mitchell.
[Comment from Mitchell]
i want lots of updates from spurs!!
James Tyler: Rog, I don't get what Mancini is playing at. So much tinkering! That said, when you have a squad that stocked and in need of minutes, is it any wonder?
James Tyler: And by business, I mean "creating a Halsey voodoo doll."
James Tyler: We won't do that either, Jack. Just getting settled. Very little time between these insane games to handle business!
Roger Bennett: Sinclair an interesting selection for Mancini. City desperately need him to make an impression. Devoid of intelligence in final third this season.

who is playing where for arsenal? cazorla on wing? or ramsay? who as striker? gerv?
Roger Bennett: That is the key battle JT. Where Yaya plays today will be key. City will hope to have him as far forward as possible. Arsenal will pray they can drive him back
James Tyler: Failing that, I suspect the midfield trio of Ramsey, Arteta and Diaby simply sit on one another's shoulders and attempt to wrestle Yaya Toure to the ground.
James Tyler: A ploy to control possession, I suspect. Or at least hope for control.
