Hull 2-0 Hartlepool: FT Report
Hull celebrated their first league game at the Kingston Communications Stadium in style with a 2-0 win against high-flying Hartlepool.
The visitors enjoyed the best of the opening exchanges, with striker Kevin Henderson coming close twice, but it was City who took the lead in the 21st minute.
Gary Alexander played the ball to midfielder Dean Keates on the edge of the box and he lobbed goalkeeper Anthony Williams to send most of the 22,000-strong crowd into raptures.
Stuart Elliott hit the post with a low drive shortly after the restart as the Tigers continued to dominate, and they wrapped up the points with 15 minutes remaining.
Keates turned provider as he played in Stuart Green, and the midfielder slammed home the ball from 18 yards.
Hartlepool substitute Tommy Widdrington hit a post late on, but nothing was going to ruin the party.
