Cambridge boosted their promotion hopes with a comfortable 3-1 victory over a Bristol Rovers side who slumped to a club-record eighth consecutive league defeat.
Cambridge - Division Three hotshots with 42 goals - hardly needed any help, but got it from Rovers who scored an own goal after 17 minutes and had their best player Graham Hyde sent off in the second half.
Sonny Parker turned Tom Youngs` cross into his own net to give Cambridge the lead.
Bradley Allen gave Rovers some hope with an equaliser seconds before the interval, following up after Adam Barrett`s header was blocked.
But Cambridge took over once Youngs completed a fine move four minutes into the second half and Rovers looked a beaten side before Dave Kitson wrapped it up when he took advantage of dreadful defending to fire his 14th goal of the season in the 66th minute.
