Port Vale 1-2 Plymouth: FT Report
Plymouth continued their push up the Second Division table as Marino Keith's goal proved decisive in the 2-1 win at cash-strapped Port Vale.
Vale, who went into administration this week, faced an uphill struggle after Micky Evans put the visitors ahead with just 44 seconds on the clock.
Vale's response was spirited and they were full value for their equaliser when Steve Brooker buried a shot on the turn in the 26th minute.
But Plymouth responded well and Keith fired narrowly wide moments before netting from Paul Wotton's corner.
The second half was a non event for the most part before Brooker's late effort skimmed off the top of the crossbar.
