Sons stroll through

Dumbarton overcame Berwick 3-1 for a place in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.

The visitors were strong favourites to win the tie but they found themselves 1-0 down following Lee Curie's well-struck free-kick early on.

The Sons got themselves back in the game when Bryan Prunty converted from the penalty spot after Stephen Tulloch handled, before Mitchell Meginson burst forward and fired home from the edge of the area to give the visitors the half-time lead.

Scott Linton added a third 10 minutes after the restart and Kevin Smith also hit a post as Dumbarton booked a place in the last 16 for the first time in 29 years.
