Jamie Glasgow's first league goal of the season gave East Stirling a 1-0 win at Elgin, moving them up to third in the table.
It ends a run of six games without a win for the Shire and they prevented the hosts scoring for a seventh consecutive game.
Glasgow tested Elgin's Raymond Jellema early on with a fierce strike which was parried away.
The home side who should have gone ahead a minute before half-time when Jordan Tapping was penalised for handball, but Shane Sutherland's penalty was well saved by Grant Hay.
East Stirling stepped up their efforts in the second period, with Kevin Turner's effort hitting a post midway through the half.
And Elgin did not heed the warning, with Glasgow popping up after 78 minutes to rifle home the only goal of the game.
