New signing Johan Elmander shone as Norwich eased into the third round of the Capital One Cup with a convincing victory over League Two side Bury at Carrow Road.
Chris Hughton made eight changes to the Canaries' starting line-up but still named a strong side, with Elmander grabbing a brace on his full debut.
It was fellow new boy Martin Olsson who opened the scoring for the dominant hosts with Anthony Pilkington doubling Norwich's lead shortly afterwards.
Last season's quarter-finalists ensured there would be no early exit this season as the impressive Elmander cracked home a third just seven minutes into the second half.
The Sweden international bundled home his second of the night in between two scrappy goals from the visitors. Although Bury did not see much of the ball they created some chances, with Craig Jones the main protagonist.
But it was Anton Forrester and William Edjenguele who grabbed two of the consolation goals for Bury, who never looked like mounting any sort of sustained comeback.
Further goals, courtesy of Leroy Fer and Steven Whittaker, completed a rout for the top-flight outfit before Bury's Jessy Reindorf scored the goal of the evening in injury time.
