Derek Lyle scored a brace as Queen of the South continued their impressive start to the season with a 2-0 win at Airdrie in the Ramsdens Cup.
Queens had scored 14 goals in their first four games and they went close early on when Iain Russell's shot was parried by Colin Stewart.
Opposite number Calum Antell did well to keep out Gregor Buchanan's left-footed effort but that was as close as Airdrie came in the first half as the Doonhamers took control.
Lyle gave the visitors a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time with a right-footed shot into the bottom corner.
The striker scored his second from close range in the 64th minute to send Queens into the third round.
