East Stirling's outside shot at promotion suffered a setback following a 0-0 draw away to bottom side Queen's Park.
The visitors had the majority of the early chances with Richard Miller firing a free-kick over the bar and David Greenhill unleashing a volley that flashed wide of the post.
Blair Spittal posed a constant threat for the hosts, coming close twice in the opening half an hour but both times skewing his shot just past the upright.
The Shire had the ball in the net two minutes before half-time through Paul Quinn, however the striker effort was ruled out for offside.
Spittal came the closest to breaking the deadlock with a wicked free-kick that clattered the post just before the hour mark.
