Albion edge past lowly Spiders

PA Sport

Albion extended their unbeaten league run to five games and climbed into the play-off places with a 2-1 victory over basement side Queen's Park.

The Spiders gave as good as they got in the first half but found themselves behind at the break after Liam Cusack fired a right-footed strike beyond Lucas Birinstinfil in the closing stages.

The visitors were left with a mountain to climb when Scott Chaplain took a pass from Cusack and stroked a left-footed shot into the bottom corner in the 70th minute.

Albion defender Michael Dunlop put through his own goal five minutes from time to give Queen's Park hope but they were unable to find an equaliser and remain rooted to the bottom of League Two.
