Egyptian side Al-Ahly advanced to the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup with victory over home favourites Sanfrecce Hiroshima at Toyota Stadium.
Al-Sayed Hamdy put Al-Ahly in front after 15 minutes as the CAF Champions League winners started brightly.
The Japanese side slowly came back into the match, though, and Hisato Sato levelled shortly after the half hour mark.
But veteran Mohamed Aboutrika came off the bench to restore the Egyptians' lead in the 57th minute and this time there was no way back for Sanfrecce.
Al-Ahly will play Brazilian side Corinthians in the semi-final on Wednesday.
