Maxwell stunner sets East Stirling on their way
East Stirling cruised into the third round of the Ramsden's Cup with a thumping 3-0 win over Airdrie.
The hosts took the lead in the 23rd minute when Scott Maxwell produced a stunning finish from the edge of the penalty area.
And they doubled their advantage 13 minutes later through Kevin Turner, whose first effort was well saved by goalkeeper Kenny Arthur, but the striker made no mistake second time from the rebound.
The Diamonds were visibly shocked by the quickfire double and struggled to regain any composure as the half drew to a close.
The visitors returned after the break in much the same form before Michael Herd settled things for East Stirling with a neat close-range finish a minute from time.
