Grubben sinks Forfar
Two goals from Darren Grubben helped Arbroath overcome Forfar 3-2 in a feisty Ramsdens Cup second-round clash at Gayfield Park.
There were seven players booked - four inside the opening 35 minutes - and Forfar's Iain Campbell eventually saw red after 61 minutes for a second bookable offence.
Arbroath snatched the lead after 22 minutes when Grubben picked out Paul Currie who drilled home from 12 yards.
The visitors levelled on the half-hour mark through Gavin Swankie's right-foot shot from the edge of the box, but two clinical strikes by Grubben, after 35 and 38 minutes, put Arbroath in the driving seat.
Forfar cut the arrears in the 44th minute, Keith Gibson collecting Swankie's pass before lashing a 25 yarder into the top corner.
