Rory McAllister scored a brace as Peterhead climbed into the play-off places with a 2-0 win over lowly Annan.
David Cox went close for the hosts inside 10 minutes but could not find a way past Alex Mitchell with a stinging drive.
The visitors tried to rally through Jordan McKechnie but he too failed to test Blue Toon stopper Graeme Smith.
McAllister had the best chance of the first half and was unlucky to see his effort come back off a post just after the half-hour mark.
But he was not to be denied again when he finished from close range after some good work by Martin Bavidge on 70 minutes.
The striker made sure of all three points with a clinical finish from 12 yards seconds before the final whistle.
