A stoppage-time goal from Anthony Laup snatched a dramatic win for Quevilly as

they upset Ligue 1 side Rennes to claim an unlikely place in the Coupe de France

final.

The third division team trailed to an early strike from Julien Feret, but Karim

Herouat notched an equaliser before Laup's late heroics sparked wild

celebrations at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.

Quevilly, who beat Marseille in the quarter-finals, will now be looking to make

it a hat-trick of wins against top-flight opposition when they take on Lyon in

the final on April 28.

Things appeared to be going by the book when Rennes took the lead after six

minutes. Yann M'Vila's low shot came back off the post but gifted Feret an easy

tap-in from a yard out.

Quevilly gave their opponents a scare soon after, though, when Laup curled in a

shot from 25 yards which had to be tipped away by Benoit Costil.

The Rennes goalkeeper was called upon to make another acrobatic save from

Pierrick Capelle's low drive after half an hour, but the Ligue 1 side responded

before the interval with a strike from Alexander Tettey which grazed the post on

its way past.

Quevilly continued to pressure their opponents and Costil again came to the

rescue after 58 minutes when John Boye threatened an equaliser.

Rennes were beaten five minutes later, though, by Herouat, who lashed an

unstoppable shot from 25 yards into the top-right corner.

Frederic Antonetti's men failed to recover from the blow, and only another

brilliant save from Costil prevented Laup from scoring in the final minute of

normal time.

However, the midfielder made amends two minutes later with the winner, racing

into the box before sliding the ball home.
