Reggae Boyz down All Whites

New Zealand were beaten 3-2 by Jamaica in their last international friendly game before their World Cup qualifying campaign begins.

A youthful All Whites side dominated for large parts of the game, but were unable to stop a rampant Reggae Boyz side at Mt Smart Stadium.

New Zealand were unlucky not to have got a penalty in the early exchanges as Marco Rojas was brought down by Jamaican keeper Jacomeno Barrett. However, Tahitian referee Norbert Hauata did not blow and they were made to pay as Jamaica took a 38th minute lead.

It was fortunate as Xavian Virgo's attempted cross floated over the head of a stranded Mark Paston but, just after half-time, Tony Lochhead was exposed for pace and Tramaine Stewart finished with ease.

Jamaica were two goals ahead for only a minute as West Brom striker Chris Wood, who is on loan at Bristol City, soon got one back, but a breakaway goal from Navian Boyd seemed to make the game safe again.

The nerves were jangling though in the 89th minute when substitute Chris Killen headed in Leo Bertos' corner, although the Reggae Boyz held on.
