Feyenoord dropped points in their push for automatic qualification for the Champions League after they drew a blank against Roda JC in their Eredivisie match at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion.
The Rotterdam-based club missed the chance to overhaul third-placed FC Twente and close the gap on AZ Alkmaar and Ajax in a game with few clear-cut chances.
Roda midfielder Ruud Vormer had the first opportunity of the game when he fired Laurent Delorge's cross over the bar in the seventh minute.
The visitors then went close through Sekou Cisse when his solo effort was saved by goalkeeper Pawel Kieszek before Vormer again blasted the ball over the bar.
Vormer then linked up with Martijn Monteyne in the box before heading over from close range, before Feyenoord midfielder Otman Bakkal's header was saved by Kieszek just before the half hour mark.
With five minutes remaining in the first half, Feyenoord started to pose more of a threat, with Cisse passing to Bakkal in the box, who in turn played in John Guidetti, only for the striker's shot to be saved by Kieszek.
Roda almost took the lead early in the second half when Sanharib Malki headed just wide after he got on the end of Adil Ramzi's cross.
Guidetti then fired a free-kick into the Roda wall in the 77th minute before Feyenoord defender Ron Vlaar tried his luck with a long-distance effort.
The attempt was again saved by Kieszek before the game fizzled out with neither side managing to find the breakthrough.
