Europe-bound AZ Alkmaar ended the season with a routine win over mid-table FC Groningen.
Gertjan Verbeek's men were already assured of their spot in next season's Europa League, but booked themselves a fourth-placed finish none the less thanks to Erik Falkenburg's 26th-minute goal.
It was a memorable day all round for AZ, whose captain Niklas Moisander was making his 150th appearance for the club.
They started in a positive manner too, with Adam Maher being denied by Luciano as early as the fifth minute.
Groningen were determined to play their part, with David Texeira running at the home defence before drilling wide, while Aston Villa-bound Brett Holman also went close for AZ.
Falkenburg's cross then spooned up on to the top of the bar, before he went one better by opening the scoring, tapping in after being played through by Jozy Altidore.
There was little cause for alarm after that, with Holman's drive nearly adding a second and Simon Poulsen squaring across an open goal with no-one waiting as AZ impressed.
They only had themselves to blame for not being further ahead, though, with Altidore wasting a one-on-one chance - and he was nearly made to pay when Texeira thumped a shot against the post and Moisander headed the rebound off the line.
That would have been rough justice on AZ, and they went on the see out the game, with Johann Berg Gudmundsson nearly adding a second with a spectacular overhead kick.
