RKC Waalwijk thumped VVV Venlo to pull away from the drop zone and deepen the relegation fears of their opponents.
Evander Sno put them ahead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute and Frank van Mosselveld doubled the lead two minutes later.
Robert Braber then added a third with 10 minutes to go before Rick ten Voorde capped the win late on.
The dramatic victory came only a week after RKC were on the wrong end of a 5-0 scoreline against FC Twente.
It proved to be a brief, but rough, outing for VVV defender Ismo Vostermans, who suffered a bloody nose in challenging Braber for the ball in the 28th minute, and then moments later brought down Krisztian Nemeth for the penalty.
Sno dispatched the spot-kick with aplomb, and Vostermans was replaced by Ferry de Regt. But before they could reorganise their defence, RKC went 2-0 up from a free-kick as Van Mosselveld headed home.
VVV struggled to create anything going forward and things only got worse for them in the second half as RKC made sure of the points with a third goal 10 minutes from time.
The visitors gave away the ball in midfield and Braber was decisive with a finish beyond the reach of Dennis Gentenaar.
The result was already beyond doubt, but RKC put the icing on the cake late on, as VVV again conceded possession and Ten Voorde made them pay with a late strike.
