Roda JC claimed victory over fellow Europa League play-off contenders Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie tonight.
Sanharib Malki put Roda in front in the 25th minute and Davy de Beule doubled the advantage 12 minutes later.
Davy Propper pulled one back to Vitesse just one minute after that, but Mads Junker got Roda's third four minutes into the second half to end the visitors' hopes.
Vitesse had the game's first chance and Roda goalkeeper Pawel Kieszek tipped Renato Ibarra's 18-yard effort behind for a corner.
The hosts soon began to stamp their authority on proceedings, though, and Junker shot just over before they went ahead.
Martijn Monteyne's crossfield pass found De Beule and his cross was turned home from close range by Malki.
And Roda made it two when an unmarked De Beule went for goal himself from Junker's pass.
But Vitesse responded immediately to halve the deficit, Jagos Vukovic's defensive header falling at the feet of Propper, who fired a glorious 20-yard strike into the top right-hand corner.
Roda re-established their two-goal cushion just four minutes after the break, though, as Vitesse keeper Piet Velthuizen missed Mark Jan Fledderus' free-kick from the right and Junker was on hand to head home at the back post.
Vitesse pushed forward in search of a way back into the match and Wilfried Bony should have done better than shoot wide when free in front of goal.
Bony had another sight of goal in the 78th minute but headed against the bar from an Ibarra cross.
Kieszek then got down well to keep out a Patrick van Aanholt from as the hosts continued to frustrate their opponents.
Guus Hupperts had the chance to make the win even more convincing for Roda at the death, but he shot wide when through on goal.
