An injury-time goal by Nourdin Boukhari saw FC Twente miss the chance to close the gap on Ajax at the top of the Eredivisie as they had to settle for a draw with NAC Breda.
Alex Schalk put the visitors ahead 11 minutes into the second half before two goals in two minutes from Luuk de Jong appeared to have guided Steve McClaren's side to victory.
However, Boukhari struck at the death as Twente dropped to fourth following Feyenoord's victory and they are now four points off leaders Ajax who play tomorrow.
NAC had the first opportunity. Anthony Lurling pounced in midfield after Franco Douglas lost the ball before heading towards goal and lobbing Twente goalkeeper Sander Boschker but Douglas managed to get back and clear off the line.
Nacer Chadli shot over for the hosts and De Jong fired wide but the game was goalless at the break.
Twente had the first chance of the second half. De Jong's shot from the right was parried by the goalkeeper with Ola John's follow-up going wide.
NAC were next to show but Boukhari completely missed the ball after being found in the six yard box by Kees Luyckx.
However, the visitors went ahead just a minute later. Lurling passed out of defence to Robbert Schilder who moved forward, finding Schalk unmarked on the right and he fired home into the left hand corner of the goal.
The lead lasted just five minutes when De Jong levelled with a solo effort which saw him score with a low shot.
He doubled the lead two minutes later when he was found by Chadli and slotted home into the left hand corner of the goal.
Twente were on the brink of victory when the visitors equalised three minutes into injury time, Boukhari heading home Omer Bayram's cross from close range.
