Heerenveen climbed into the automatic Europa League qualification places in the Eredivisie as they recovered from 2-0 down to win a seven-goal thriller at FC Twente.
Luuk de Jong's early double put Twente in control but Bas Dost, Oussama Assaidi (two) and Luciano Narsingh's efforts for Heerenveen meant Douglas' late header was not enough for the home side.
Twente looked set to boost their own hopes of avoiding the Europa League play-offs when they surged into a two-goal lead in 20 minutes.
De Jong nodded home the fifth-minute opener after Heerenveen goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt failed to hold a Peter Wisgerhof shot, before the same player headed the second from Roberto Rosales' cross.
But the visitors responded just two minutes later as a long punt upfield from Nordfeldt fell for Dost to shoot into the top corner.
The score remained 2-1 into the second half but Heerenveen levelled in the 63rd minute when Jeffrey Gouweleeuw fed Assaidi for the midfielder to slot home from the edge of the box.
The visitors took the lead for the first time with 10 minutes left as Narsingh arrowed a shot across goal into Nikolay Mihaylov's right-hand corner, before Assaidi grabbed the fourth three minutes later as he beat two defenders and calmly finished.
There was still time for Twente to set up a dramatic finale as defender Douglas rose highest to convert from Wesley Verhoek's corner, but Heerenveen held on to claim the spoils.
