Belarus were unable to recreate the heroics of their win over France but they secured a creditable draw against Romania in this Euro 2012 Group D qualifier in Minsk.
The Eastern Europeans had stunned Les Bleus with a 1-0 win at Stade de France on Friday and they created two promising early openings here but Sergei Kornilenko failed to hit the target.
But Romania soon settled down and began to create some good chances of their own and Bogdan Stancu came close to giving them the lead as he met Ciprian Deac's cross, but Belarus keeper Yuri Zhevnov made a superb save before blocking Gabriel Torje's effort.
Sergei Kislyak came closest to a goal after the break as his powerful strike from distance just flew wide of the Romania goal, while substitute Ciprian Marica went close at the other end as he dragged an effort just wide.
Belarus will travel to face Luxembourg in their next match on October 8, Romania will face France in Paris.
